...and a multi-page personal tribute from Dave Ling in the middle.
At last, a proper tribute and delivered by the best rock mag out there. Welcome back, Classic Rock!

I haven't read the article yet but this was purely for information to the fanbase - there is no implied comment on any other band member past or present in my posting this.

Haven't read the article yet; only bought it this morning. There was word recently that the Classic Rock was no more but it seems to be hanging on. As is Metal Hammer.

Still haven't seen this anywhere yet, not so sure I'm gonna buy it now when I do see it, as I'm told it contains no new info It's in WH Smith now. At least it is in the Thirsk branch. If it's in Thirsk it'll be everywhere else

Maybe a stupid question (it wouldn't be my first) - but why are there two different covers for the same issue ? Takes away from the tribute though for me ..
And no, I won't buy it either. DL isn't exactly my favourite music journalist.

DL isn't exactly my favourite music journalist. He's not mine either. I won't go into the reasons. There is a long article on The Doors and the story behind their (apparently) influential debut album inside as well. Both that and the Rick one dominate. There are a few pics of Rick - good ones - but none from after the early 80's. To me, the mag is the only music rag worth reading from start to finish. There's also a terrific piece on the Judas Priest catalogue as well. To coincide with the release of Turbo 30 no doubt.

Very disappointing as been in 3 newsagents and in everyone the Doors cover. Think Rick deserved more than sharing a monthly cover !

I had a quick look through it in Tesco today. It's a nice article, but I'm not paying 7 quid for a magazine.
There was a short but nice tribute in Guitarist mag too.

I had a quick look through it in Tesco today. It's a nice article, but I'm not paying 7 quid for a magazine. There was a short but nice tribute in Guitarist mag too. £7 ?!! thats steep,I have read the article in full now & based on the fact it contains nothing new, I doubt I will buy it at that price, having said that, our local newsagent now has it and has told me I can buy it for less than the cover price as I'm such a good loyal customer!, and basically what he paid for it, so maybe I will end up getting it. If it had new info in it then yeah I would have forked out £7 for it. £5.99 mine was. Not sure anyone can justify selling it for more than the retail price; not from a newsagents! As for the article itself, I only read it all yesterday. You're right; nothing new. In fact, some of it is just a rehash and even quotes from Rick's previous interview with Classic Rock a couple of months back. And, of course, there are the usual quotes from the official statements issued over Christmas. Mind you, not sure what the alternative would be. He can't exactly be interviewed again! Some personal viewpoints by the writer and some nice pics. The bottom line is its good to have. Quo have featured on the cover of Classic Rock so rarely and never made the front of Kerrang! back when it was a good read and they were still massively popular. Shame it had to be in such sad circumstances.

Incidentally, if anyone hasn't got it, there is also an interview with John Coghlan about JCQ and a review of Bob Young's reissue of In Quo Country.
