I can't see anything on the FTMO site although this Party In The Park thing has been organised for some time; since January in fact. This isn't the official memorial though, is it? Do you have a link to the FTMO article?

I just thought you'll certainly have lots of great Rick pics, @inna , as you used to always stand in front of him. Maybe, additional to the t-shirt print, they show all the photos that are sent to them on a screen ? That would actually be a nice idea, I think.

Yes, snakelady , there are quite a few my husband has taken over the years, and some really good ones at that - of the band, of band members and of course of Rick alone. But I'm not sure I'd want them on display or see them on someone's T-shirt... But still, it's a nice idea to have a competition for a good cause. Can understand about the t-shirt, but probably wouldn't mind sharing them with other fans .. I have as near as no band pics. Rarely took a camera along at all and when I did I'd take a photo of the empty stage before Quo come on and suchlike stuff, but while the band is on stage, I'm usually too busy rockin' . At least hubby has taken the occasional pic with his smartphone.

I've got some very good pics. I've had them made into calendars and all sorts. Just for personal use and one or two are framed and dotted about the house. But I don't think I'd put any forward. There will be better out there. Pepsi used to take some crackers. I tended to be, eh, distracted. Even lost a camera at Stoke Trentham Gardens once while I tried to give it plenty AND take pictures. Impossible I tell you.

Well.... it was very hot and sunny and the band did really well. It was a lovely tribute to Rick and as they were playing, there were photos on the big screen that fans had submitted of themselves with Rick. They understandably played a lot of the singles being a mixed audience of regular Woking residents attending their annual festival and die hard Quo fans. Jackie Lynton introduced the band and then they stormed in with Caroline, followed by ROLD. It was all fabulous and bittersweet at the same time and I rocked out as usual but maybe not quite as energetically as in the past! I bought a Rockin' for Rick T shirt and badge beforehand! Don't know when I will wear it but the Convention may be an appropriate time! quorp

Thanks, Dave and Viv Nice touch with the fan pics. The set on the other hand .. when I hate it with Quo and can't excuse it, it's as bad if not worse if JCQ play the same/similar ..

But it wasn't their usual set list, they never start with Caroline normally. As it was a short, mixed crowd festival set, it had to be a 'greatest hits' set, but nice to include Rick's All the Reasons.

Thank you, vivfromcov , for the gig report and @kursaal75 for the pictures and videos. I'm glad you enjoyed the gig and that it was a lovely tribute to Rick. Fabulous and bittersweet at the same time. I'm sure it was. I saw the video and the fans' photos on the FTMO site, too. Nice one. @kursaal75, did you have a look at Rick's plaque, then? Yes I did

As it was a short, mixed crowd festival set, it had to be a 'greatest hits' set, but nice to include Rick's All the Reasons. The thing is, Viv, that is exactly the explanation/excuse for Quo's boring hits set. Yep, both bands might have to play RAOTW and WYW, but (nearly all of) the rest is exchangeable. JCQ imitating the current band is not a good move IMO. And yep, including All The Reasons was a good idea. They should've gone for a lot more songs co-written by Rick while they were doing a different set for the occasion anyway .. (LOAI, Shine On, One Man Band, Good Sign ..)
