How many do we think are kicking about? And will any ever see an official light of day?
Apart from his solo album, Recorded Delivery, the songs Blondes Don't Lie and Rock 'n' Roll Floorboards are relatively easy to come by. Both are demos but half decent quality.
There was talk of a collaboration with Phil Lynott back in the 80's. I wonder if anything still exists - or ever did. And his new songs; perhaps there are new demos. Wayne Morris might have a few things kicking around as well. Maybe even Rhino. It'd be ironic if unreleased material started to surface now.
Anyone know of any others?

There was talk of someone trawling through Phil Lynott's catalogue of demos a couple of years ago - if anything exists of Rick'n'Phil then that's where they'll be. Let's hope they come to light. Mind you, with Rick'n'Phil in the room it all could just have been a figment of their drug addled imagination!
I'd love to hear it!

It was mentioned somewhere that Phil's mum had confirmed it as well, but I can't remember the details. Otherwise I merely know the songs that can be found on yt, which you've mentioned already, Billy.

I've been thinking about this too.
I'd hope that there's quite a few but that's perhaps being too optimistic.
I'd always hoped that there would be one more Rossi/Parfitt composition before they quit and I'd like to think that there's something unfinished lying around but I realise that that is unlikely
Apart from the names already mentioned, didn't Rick say on the release of one of the last studio albums, can't remember if it was ISOTFC or QPQ but didn't he mention that he'd finished a song for the album with Wayne Morris that he'd originally started with Simon Climie years ago? He might (hopefully) have more unfinished songs lying around?
ive, Do you have any idea if Rick has any/many unfinished songs?
Hope so anyway.

I forgot about that. Well remembered! I can't recall which album it was but I do remember Rick saying in the FTMO that several of his songs were rejected. So there may well be the odd demo lying around. Rick was never the most prolific so there will be very few almost finished articles.

In his tribute Joe Elliot mentioned a half written song they started but he wouldn't finish it.
That would interesting if he did....

Talking about unreleased Rick songs .. I wonder when we're going to hear any news about what's going t happen with the songs already written for his solo album ? Something should become of it, so Rick has a solo album to his name as well. Probably once again a question of who's going to pay for it ..

I'm inclined to agree with this.
Don't think he made a particularly good job of the recent Bryan Adams record.
i like ELO/Jeff but I don't want any songs by Rick to end up sounding like that.

If somebody should be chosen to turn songs of his into an album, the most natural choice would be Pip. I mean, the guy wrote a lot of songs with Rick, collaborated with him on Recorded Delivery and it seems they were good friends...

In the interview prior to HT, he talks about several tracks he's writing with Rhino, one with Pip, one with somebody else... in the end only two showed up on album & single b-side and there have never been any more Parfitt/Williams tracks on Quo albums, not even ISOTFC!

I get the impression Jeff Lynne is becoming a bit hit and miss. The new "ELO" stuff isn't great; not to me. Very bland. But he did do a superb job on Joe Walsh's album Analogue Man a few years back. I love that album.
But apart from anything else, he'd be ridiculously expensive. So we can forget him as an option should anything at all be considered.

Regarding a Rick tribute album. To me it depends who you are aiming it at. As a general tribute to show Ricks talents there could be nothing better than a compilation of Ricks Quo tracks...things like Lonely Man, Everything, BFM etc....to me that would be the more fitting tribute rather than unreleased stuff. That would only satisfy he serious fans. For unreleased stuff it all depends on the quality of the songs / song writing as well. You can't paint over something that isn't good enough even with the best producer. I do hope there is some unreleased songs that have quality and would be considered for release and someone who is prepared to finance such a project ! I still regard the Quo stuff as a more fitting tribute to him.

I love that album. I've got that album too. I saw The Eagles a few years ago and Joe performed "One Day At A Time" which was then a new unreleased song and I loved it but it only became available when AM was released and I think Jeff ruined it. It just sounds so flat compared to The Eagles one. I posted a clip of it in the General Music section only last week. Joe has got a few bob but I think he's also Jeff's brother in law which would help with costs!
