My last Quo show was at the O2 in 2014 where Chaz and Dave were supporting. It was a superb evening with me, my Dad and my son all rocking away. I normally go every other year and have done so since 1989, but I will admit, rightly or wrongly, I didn't feel like going once Rick pulled out.
Strangely, I find myself feeling a bit guilty for giving it a miss, although my son has suggested going to see Rhino's Revenge.
There's a couple of dates I could potentially do in 2017, one is just down the road from me in Brentwood (Essex).
Will try and make up my mind over the next few days!

I've got tickets for one gig so far. That might be the only one, I don't know, but its a question of enjoyment and even self-indulgence for me. Its an Aquostic gig and I've only seen a couple of those; one with Rick and one without. But I really liked them. Guilt doesn't come into it. If it did, I'd feel guilty about going to see, say, State of Quo when Quo were still active. Its about the music. But everyone will have a different approach. In Cardiff in December we meet up with three blokes the same as we do every year and that was their last Quo gig. They're not doing any more. Neither is my sister actually. Or so they say If its not the same for you and you can't or don't enjoy it any more, don't go. I certainly wouldn't. But that would be my only reason I think. I have to admit I've been getting a bit bored with the stale set list for a few years now so I've cut right back and only been doing a couple of gigs a year. Myself and my wife used to do at least a dozen up to about 5 or 6 years ago. Maybe that's why I'm enjoying the Aquostic gigs; the freshening up of the set. Who knows? Its just a theory. Rhino's Revenge in May is also a given. They're great gigs. But time till tell if Rick's passing will have a knock-on effect in terms of attendance figures. I suspected that it might but now I'm not so sure. We shall see.

Same as mortified I already have tickets for an acoustic gig - albeit a different one and in December. And like him I loved the first acoustic gigs (saw them twice - Stuttgart and Hammy), which certainly had a lot to do with the very different set. It was a breath of fresh air ! With A2 including some of the songs it does, I'm really afraid now they might drop the album tracks for the hits though and in the end the acoustic set will very much resemble the electric set. If they go down that route, I won't go to any further acoustic gigs. The tickets are nearly double the price compared to the regular electric ones and a similar set just wouldn't constitute VFM - the Union Chapel/Hyde Park set most definitely wouldn't be good enough. The LNOTE tour may have been very good and I very much enjoyed the gig I went to, but it could still have been so much better had the set contained a few more surprises and more new songs. Why have all QPQ songs been dropped again - I thought RnRnY worked great live - and why did they never try out any other (it's obvious fans have clear favourites from the album - see poll). Same goes for Bula Quo: Why not give Run And Hide a chance live, especially now that Rhino's accepted as lead singer anyway ? Some of the new LNOTE dates are not that far away from here, with one at an absolutely stunning location a mere 20mins. drive away. BUT it does feel different now, that we know Rick is gone forever - so that makes me hesitate to start with - and the thought of an unchanged set list rather turns me off. Which means I haven't made up my mind yet. I'll probably wait for the first gig this year and once I know the set from the first gig (Paris ?) I hopefully will be able to decide ..

At the moment, the only one that I intend to attend is a Rhino's Revenge one in May, no other plans at the moment.
I didn't go to any of the LNOTE ones and that was by choice. I waited to see the first few reports and as it was the same static set list, I decided not to bother. I used to go to two or three every tour then that dwindled down to one and then I stopped going completely and one of the reasons as to why was due to the above reasoning. Another reason was because I couldn't get time off work and the last time I drove to a venue in that complex, the wait to get out of the car park afterwards was nearly as long as the gig itself, so, I thought, "no thanks". To be honest, Rick not being there wasn't a factor for me.
I've only been to one Aquostic but I would seriously consider going to another. If the dates are right for me then I'd definitely consider going to another electric show(s) too although as I've never seen Quo without Rick being present, that is something that I'd have to come to terms with.
Just reading that paragraph still seems surreal to me, "Quo without Rick..".
I've been lucky enough to have seen SQ in Toulouse twice and seeing the band somewhere abroad, preferably warm is something that I'd like to experience again. Hopefully.

I'll Probably see John Coghlans Quo in London a couple of times this year and at the Quo Convention at Mindhead in October. I won't be seeing Francis Rossi's Quo, up the road in Brentwood, but local rock covers band Exposé playing on Sunday at the 3 day festival, are an excellent pub band.

Desperately wanted to see Aquostic as really enjoyed it first time I saw...how disappointed am I...the only two dates near enough are when I can't go...how many foreign dates? And no winter dates...feeling very let down...hope I can get to the memorial for Rick ...please let it be a central venue..not London 😫

On the other hand, the UK tour might be dropped this year and the German tour moved back in its place in favour of the release of Francis' long overdue next solo album in autumn and maybe some gigs even . Or he's going to do some gigs with Hannah Rickard ? One can hope ..

Well!!!, as someone put on here recently, Germany has the best fans, so its only right that they should get most of the FRQ gigs isnt it ?!, they should leave the UK alone . A long overdue Rossi solo album huh ?! why don't you write yer review of it now, no need to hear it surely as its gonna be a fantastic album I'm sure Well yeah, it's going to be the best album ever, by anyone, that much is clear ! But how am I to know the song titles and subtleties without having listened to it ?

Only Electric for me, and as I don't do the summer picnic circuit, that's it for me unless they do another UK winter tour, Given that the confirmed German dates are on the normal UK dates, it looks like there will not be a U.K. Tour this year.
For the analysis RM in place of RP does not stop me going, but Acoustic only does. For me it was an OK one off project, but beyond that it's not for me.i still argue it's not financially viable long term as the cost with extra musicians coupled with a smaller fan attendance doesn't add up

Will be interesting to see how tickets will sell and if the gigs are going to be sold out ?

As it stands I'm not but I really enjoyed the gig in Leeds in December so if further electric dates are announced I'll definitely be going.
Aquostic appeals although not quite as much, I'll go if it's relatively local but I'm not prepared to travel a long way for it.
Trying to persuade my better half to attend the JCQ gig in Garstang in March as it's only up the road for us. She's not playing ball at the minute though.

ive - I don't quite get why you 'like' posts from people that say no (never again). If they don't enjoy it anymore, it's Ok for them, but liking that comes across as if you want the band to fail. Why ? The way it looks now, his wife and little children are in need of every penny the gigs generate for them. From that perspective it would even be understandable if songs co-written by Rick or kept in the set. And if people go to the gigs and enjoy them, it doesn't effect you the least bit. Every day all over the world people go to gigs and enjoy them without having Rick on stage ..

Of the electric dates that have been announced so far, there's not any that are close but I think I'd like to see them again if there's one a bit closer to home. The nearest they'll get to me is probably 100 miles away but I'd go if the dates were convenient. Ditto Aquostic.

I saw quo for the last time in Liverpool. It's the tribute bands for me now.
However, if they were to completely change the boring set and play in my local working mens club, then I'd probably go !!
