Just announced Via FB.
"Status Quo would like to thank their fans for all of your kind messages over the last few weeks. In Rick's memory, the band – and as previously announced - will continue to honour their already scheduled live commitments for 2017, continuing with guitarist Richie Malone. Fans wishing to pay their personal respects to Rick will be able to do so later in the year at a memorial event which will be announced in late Spring."

Great news about a memorial. Terrible news the gigs continue. As I said somewhere else. If these gigs bring more money to Status Quo LTD and it helps Tommy and Lily Parfitt then I don't have a problem with it. The more money Rick's estate earns the better for them.

I understand the point, but these kids will already be getting more money than you or I could dream of. Plus, there are times when doing the right thing should come before money. And I truly believe the right thing to do is retire the Quo name.

I think this is good news. I would like the opportunity to pay my respects to someone who has been part of my life longer than anyone except my dad and my sister.
Whatever format it takes, I'd love to be there.

So pleased a memorial event is being planned and will definitely be there if at all possible .
Regards continuing the concerts...Quo is an ongoing commitment not only to keep money coming in for members and royalties to secure the future of Ricks children but think of all the people that would be put out of work if the band discontinued...they continued with Ricks blessing and that's all that matters...what the public think is of no matter...if one of the Management in a firm passes on the firm continues...at the end of the day life goes on and those left have to continue living no matter how much they miss someone....I would say this will be the hardest year for Francis, Rhino and Andy...they have had Rick in their lives a very very long time and at the end of the day not one person on the outside of that close knit group can judge their behaviour

Will be interesting to hear which formate it's going to be, who will be involved .. Looks like it does need quite a bit of preparations and pre-work behind the scenes, so I expect it to be something special. And I hope it's going to be filmed. Not all fans from around the world will be able to travel to the chosen venue.

Its gonna be as usual: big announcment, a lot of PR and then: some average half-done thing. For me the best way to honour Rick is to just stop the current quo-circius and closed it. For all of us we still have the music and the memories left;)
