www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/three-rick-parfitts-ex-wives-9623650The three wives of Status Quo rocker Rick Parfitt all plan to go to his funeral this week, as a battle looms over his £10million fortune. The star will be laid to rest at a private gathering for friends and family on Thursday, including his estranged wife Lyndsay. But she will come face to face with Rick’s exes Marietta Boeker and Patty Beedon. A source told The Sunday People: “All of the wives have expressed a wish to be at the funeral. It could be incredibly awkward. “His closest showbiz pals will also be there but it’s not open to the public. He didn’t want a big, over-the-top thing, so it will be very simple.” Rick, who received an OBE in 2010, died in hospital in Marbella, southern Spain, on Christmas Eve from a severe infection following complications to a shoulder injury. He was 68.

No offence meant, but this kind of journalism is nothing but appalling. Agreed. The first thing on the website is the location it's being held WHICH should have been left out... Media should have no say in letting people know when it is...

Of course his wife and his two ex-wives have every right to attend the funeral. The fans have not. Some kind of memorial service would be appropriate, though, so that they could say goodbye to their idol. It looks a lovely place to be laid to rest: www.thelondoncremation.co.uk/woking-crematorium/memorials/It does look a lovely and peaceful place indeed. What I like the most about it is, that the ashes don't have to be buried in an urn, but can be scattered at the families choice. The mirror article on the other hand is pure gutter journalism -searching for and hinting at (non-existing) scandals, even in connection with a funeral. Don't buy it folks -ever ! It's the only way to show how much you despise it.

I think the British tabloid press is a stinking pile of utterly reprehensible lowlife sh*te. They don't give a damn about anyone or anything as long as it sells their rag. I wouldn't buy a tabloid newspaper to wipe my brown ringpiece on...
