No sign of AL it would appear I was thinking the same thing & Bob It is possible they were both there just requested no photos. We know AL has trouble walking at times of stress due to his anxity say for example that he was in a chair because of walking difficulties he would not want the fans to see that.

All of the pictures, but especially the pictures of the hearse, his coffin and especially the notes from Lilly and Tommy almost hurt physically. ****in hell...crying like a baby again. Reading the notes from his children really choked me up. I had to skip past them

I like that pity they could not have used his actual Tele. I suppose it's to valuable now to be left in the hands of the undertakers and crem staff. It's a very good replica but not quite the same as his no 1.

I imagine the original white tele is now worth far too much money to risk anything happening to it.

Can I just say, from all the pics I saw today, and they may not show the full picture....I really felt for his wife Lyndsay.....she seemed to be on her own....I hope it was just the pics we saw. They may have not been together but we know when Rick woke up from his coma he thought he was still married to marrieta. So, I really hope Lyndsay had support today. God bless her and their children.

I very much doubt the DM pics were officially sanctioned. Not even sure about the itv ones. The band in front of the bus would've been official and they probably knew they had to provide some images for publicity. The flowers though and some of the family pics as well as Francis hugging Matt clearly are not, They're very private pics and Francis looks white as a wall and visibly shaken there. I doubt any of them would want these - their grief - publicised. A shame really and I now regret having clicked on the links ..

Certain members of the press - or maybe just one - would have been sanctioned I imagine; hence the tour bus pics etc. In fact, there are two photos on the official website. The rest of the photos were taken with a zoom lens and you could hear large numbers of cameras going off on the Daily Mail footage. It felt intrusive looking in on everyone but I suppose with someone who was in the public eye - and who often courted it to be fair - he'd have liked the attention.

I didn't watch it - and won't now, but that's how it looks. And yep, Rick would've certainly enjoyed at least some of the attention, but many present weren't used to being in the public eye or weren't aware it was still ongoing after the official photos had been taken. Drama sells *she says, stating the obvious*.

No-one is at their best when the attend a funeral and it's deeply unfair to photographed coming out of the service.
The picture of Lyndsay is shameful in my opinion, disgraceful really but the British press have no shame. Or morals. It's to be expected

I just get my head bitten off being told it's nice to see who was there. If they did not want pictures taken why pose for them and why invite the press in the first place.

It's to be expected I'm not sure what the law is regarding the press/media at funerals, as in, are they automatically allowed in regardless of the families wishes I'm sure the vultures know exactly what's allowed and what not. They sure have to keep a distance, so to make up for it they're using zoom lenses. And that's where it gets intrusive: People simply aren't aware that they're being photographed from such a long distance, probably without seeing the camera even. I doubt Lindsay would've wanted to have that pic taken ..

The band had to provide something official. After all Rick was a person of public interest. It's the unofficial pics taken with zoom lenses, I consider wrong. Obviously that stance you mention justifies taking them though as enough people want to see them. These are voyeuristic times, sadly.

He is still being called a "So Called fan" and that the guy tho shared it "did nothing wrong". Sorry I don't agree it was one of those Zoom shots you talk about and It's wrong.

It's easy to hide behind trees and shrubs and whatever. They've got enough routine with it .. To sneak into the chapel would've been a lot more complicated, that's why I'd assume (and hope) at least that private part of the ceremony remains private.

As a side issue, what I personally did find dis tasteful, was a pic of Ricks casket inside the crematorium, and this was an official photo and is on the bands official website Yes I didn't like that I have said all along I did not want to see photos of his coffin. Some of those have been shared on FB as well.

Just had a look at the pictures from the ITV link, as I won't touch the Tabloid article with a bargepole. I must say I also thought Lyndsay looked rather alone, which was very sad to see - Although it may just be that the photos don't show the full picture. Francis and Matt and Andy in particular looked gaunt, I have to say. Funerals, however much a celebration of a life, are still a very sad occasion, and the realisation of one's own mortality is brought home very sharply, as I an many others will know only too well.
So, farewell to my Hero and inspiration - You will never be forgotten Rick.
Rick Roper.

It's to be expected I'm not sure what the law is regarding the press/media at funerals, as in, are they automatically allowed in regardless of the families wishes After the of the phone hacking scandal, there was an attempt to enforce new regulations on the press but they argued that these were not necessary.
They said they now realise what is acceptable and what isn't but going by the behaviour of them at the funeral yesterday, it looks as if they still have much to learn.

I think the official website had to obviously mention the funeral in some way.
I found looking at the pictures there didn't upset me so much as the ones in the newspaper/tv links did.
