I rarely post on here but do look in occasionally, even more so since Christmas Eve . Of all the people we lost in 2016 Rick's passing upset me the most. I had admired him ever since Matchstick Men, he was everything I wanted in a rock star and of course the music was amazing and still is today when I put on those classics. As some on here will know I was fortunate enough to tour with Quo and Rick took me under his wing and called me his 'smoking partner'. During my time with them I managed to scratch the surface hoping to find a good man under the rock star armour and I wasn't disappointed. He was extremely kind and warm and on a number of occasions (usually when we were drinking!!) he opened up and we talked about the things that are really important in life... family, friends, music etc. I cherish those moments and am so grateful I had them. My heart goes out to all those who miss him, his family, his friends, his band mates and the crew and the loyal fans who he told me on more than one occasion he truly appreciated. I have lots of funny little stories I could tell about Rick but for now i'll just keep them as cherished memories. Thanks Rick for being an inspiration... a very funny man and a wonderful musician. Rorry....

Hi rorry, glad to see you again and I look forward to some little snippets of your 'meetings' with Rick and the gang........
On Christmas Eve when I heard the tragic news I was in shock and really very very saddened. I thought I was holding it together well until I started reading all the lovely messages about Rick and I am not ashamed to say that tears did flow...... I even now can't get over that we shall never see him(or the likes of him) ever again...

Yep, nice to see you posting again, Rorry, if the reason was a very sad one. I always enjoyed reading your little stories about your encounters with a variety of musicians .
