I was just thinking such a thing would be good to have. Being a radio person, when driving anyway, I was wondering if radio 2 or planet rock had marked the moment, if a track was played or a mention made. Here's Jeff Rich's tribute on 5 live: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p04mg59r

Posted on Christmas Eve By Danny
"When The Ramones - quite rightly - became big, a few of us smarter souls whispered, "We're being sold junior Status Quo right?"
He then has a photo of the Frantic Four and then later a photo of him holding a glass of wine and a copy of DOTH undr his arm.
Ginger Wildheart Also Said:
Status Quo - Blue For You (& bonus tracks)
"I still live in hope of making an album this good".

Craig Charles has paid tribute to Rick both yesterday and today on Steve Wright's show.
Yesterday, he played 'raotw, loai and Caroline.
Today, it was mystery song.

The other day I heard that Johnny Walker meets Status Quo was on Radio 2 at 5pm today. I heard this morning and checked online and it seems that Johnny Walker meets the FF is now on at 7pm tonight.

Radio 2 currently broadcasting an interview with the FF as a tribute to Rick. It's half finished now, but likely to be available on demand.
It will bring a tear to your eye....

I'll merge this thread into the one with the other media tributes and hopefully this broadcast will be available as replay.

A comprehensive obituary about Rick in today's major metro newspaper. Supplied by The Times it is very accurate about the history of the band and the facts as we know them about Rick. The size of the article is somewhat surprising as Quo haven't visited NZ for more than 40 years and the band is not very well known here - apart perhaps from the number plate on my Austin Healey Sprite (QUO)!

Ta for the link. Really superb site. The pics by Duncan Raban are also really good. Did Rick ever stop smiling? I'm particularly impressed by the words from Fish. They pretty much nail it.

It's not even surprising that so many people have said nice things about Rick. Thank you for that!

The official site has created a Rick Parfitt button in the header and removed his pic from the starter page. I actually think that's a good idea. That page is and should be about current projects and tours - the products they're trying to sell at the moment. With giving him his own section, it's acknowledged though, that he is part of Quo's history. A big part at that.
