Thanks for making us aware. I rarely ever visit the homepage these days .. I go on quite regularly; daily almost. But I've never noticed the tour log. I'll go have a read now I think.

Superb read. Funny and informative in difficult circumstances all round. Last night a kebab saved my life? Beats a DJ I suppose He is one very lucky man. Told you in 2005 he was indestructible

I've always enjoyed Rhino's tour logs over the years. They've been funny and always a good read. But recently he only came up with one or two a year, and very short ones at that. I guess he's got a bit fed up with some fans who keep slagging him, Francis and/or the band off - for whatever reason. It's a shame, really, because a lot of fans really enjoy what he's got to say about life on the road and behind closed doors. I wished he'd made a book from all his logs. Rick definitely has more than nine lives. He seems to be indestructable, at least to some extent. It's a miracle he survived that heart attack and says he's already fully recovered. And no, Rick surely doesn't "walk on water". Admittedly we have no idea what's been going on behind the scenes for years and years, but after hearing Francis, then the man himself, and now Rhino, we should somehow get the picture. Without even reading the latest tour log, let me guess, Rhino is knocking the folk that can see straight through the farce, plus also having a swipe at Rick, am I correct ? He does not really swipe at Rick he is basically calling him a bit of an idiot. For not taking seriously the many warning signs he was getting that something was very wrong with him. He signs off with still love you riccardo. He does have a go at the fans who are having a go at the band for carrying on even though they had no choice. Also he says he was the one who went with Rick until his family arrived as he felt he should not have been alone if he was not going to make it.

I've just re-read this and think it's a great read. It's been said but parts of this are funny and informative.
It's after reading this that I wish the old official board was still open. There'd definitely be some who would be raging at some of his comments, however, it's as they say, if you give it out...........
I was surprised to read that the band all congregated in Francis' room after the concert. For some reason, I got the impression that it was he who locked himself away in his room on his own after a concert but actually, it appears that it's Rick who does this (certainly on this occasion anyway). Do you think there is a split in the band and it's perhaps not just a Francis/Rick thing?
I think I read previously that Francis said that it was Rhino who put his fingers across his throat and said "dead" but here Rhino says it was a paramedic. In the stress/shock of the situation, I can easily imagine why their memories might not be that great or reliable. They were probably in shock themselves.
I think it's obvious reading this that Francis does care about Rick and perhaps he's not as cold hearted as he's sometimes portrayed.
ive, I think you should read this one (if you haven't already). You're the biggest Rick fan on here and it does give you a bit of insight as to what happened. I think you'd be interested in what Rhino has to say about that day in Turkey. That's all.

I think he's knocking the folk that are giving him abuse and that are ignorant about the facts of everything that actually goes on behind the scenes. No way is he having a swipe at Rick, maybe he's saying that now Rick really is listening to advice about his lifestyle..

Part 4 already and he hasn't even reached Germany. Guess pts. 5 + 6 are to follow soon. Right good read as always . Those logs would make a great addition to a book of yours, Rhino ..

Just read through them all,, the comment below from part 1,, made me laugh though "One of the reasons I did stop reading stuff on the web, by the way, was the level of hatred and vitriol directed at the band, (except Richie, which is right, he's such a nice guy doing his best) by some people, who have NO idea what is going on in Status Quo, and think Rick walks on water. Some of you are real weirdos, and you don't half talk ****" Oh really Rhino ? so he himself is actually saying no negative opinions, and as for us "weirdos" as he calls us, perhaps he should remember its us weirdos that have paid his wages since he joined the band, its us weirdos who have, up until Rick left, supported the band through the dark late 80's/early 90's when the studio output was often dire,, and many of us weirdos defended him against much of the unfair flak he got when he joined the band,, so us "weirdos" have every right to state opinions, He mentions elsewhere that this year may be the end of his tourlogs as he feels its nearing the end of an era, what that translates to me is, he knows he is gonna need a new job. And as for Rick walking on water,, most gods can 107 Nice to see you consider Francis a god too But then I'd say both of them are definitely getting wet feet .. :lolflg:

Thanks for posting smokie. Reading it you can just feel how proud Rhino is of Freddie and rightly so. Warms the cockles as they say. Great read.

Part 5 up now: linkDon't give up hope of Rick returning to Quo yet and his solo album seems to shape up nicely.
