In case any of you looking in is wondering where all the threads are gone .. They've been deleted accidentally during the process of setting up a new sub-board. All we can do now is hope Proboards will be able to retrieve them - and start new threads !

Good luck, Bam, getting it all back. I'll just bet that this is a day when you had loads of other things to do, and need this like a hole in the head.

Sat at work allegedly doing my day/paid job and can't focus on it at all. I just keep refreshing the support board in the hope that the Proboards experts reply and can retrieve the threads that I deleted. I truly feel terrible and can only apologise to everyone. :dunce:

Ladies and gentlemen,
Sorry I have to pass on the bad news, but the Proboard Support isn't able to retrieve the threads and everything is indeed lost.
So start posting - let's make up for what's been lost !

Yeah, Tommy is well worse than Mystery Island!! imo Hope you have a tin hat on at the ready !!, there is nothing worse than an irate Rossi fan I really do not like Tommy's in Love....he was definitely off the dr*gs when they wrote and recorded that one!! The nadir of all Quo songs for me.

I know it's disappointing Inna, believe me, I know.
I'm a 37 year old guy who grew up loving Quo as a result of my father, who still loves Quo despite being in his 70's. He doesn't give a toss about CQ/FF it's all Quo to him. I've adopted the same approach myself, Quo is Quo, end of.
I love the Quo MB's, they're such a rich source of information, from some incredibly informative individuals. I was chuffed to bits when I became an admin, despite not really knowing what was required initially.
I innocently tried to add a new category to the board, I screwed up and somehow manged to delete all the threads in the Quo section. I burst into tears when I got home last night when my wife asked me how my day had gone - one of the worst days of my life is how I described it.
What made it worse is the fact that somebody chose to prey on my distress by posting in the new section as a guest, pretending to be I've and mocking my mistake. They're clearly a Quo fan and the fact that a Quo fan could sink that low saddens me beyond belief.
I hereby tender my resignation as admin but I would still like to stay on as a board member.
Snakelady - please hit the button.

Snakelady - please hit the button. Don't be daft mate. There is good and bad in every Quo fan and everyone else you meet in life. Just grow broader shoulders and you'll be fine. You will ALWAYS get ones praying on your distress - do as my sister {a long time Quo fan} suggests and 'keep smiling- it makes the b@stards wonder what you're up to'. Don't ever let anyone get you down or take away something you value, whether that's admin responsibility or friendship or whatever makes you tick. You're young - it shows; but be yourself, grow balls and flourish in your own right as the Quo fan YOU are. Don't focus on others, because that's when the disappointment can really get you down. Chin up & move on. All the best

@bam Please reconsider? What's happened, has happened, put it behind you and move on. It was an honest mistake, I don't think any the less of you for it and I'd hope no one else on here does either. Someone was childish and mocked you which was obviously unpleasant for you, I certainly understand that but that says more about them than it does about you. Who's the better person? Rise above it. Ok, the threads have gone but in the grand scheme of things, so what? No one has died here. Watch the news tonight and see what is happening in Syria/Aleppo. That's life changing, losing part of the board isn't. snakelady, can you refuse to accept Bam's resignation?

In case any of you looking in is wondering where all the threads are gone .. They've been deleted accidentally during the process of setting up a new sub-board. (...) Uh oh! I was away for four days, and look what happened! When I logged on I thought my computer was playing up... All the Quo threads of the recent three years shot into space!! Wow!! Now that's all very disappointing, but it can't be helped. There are worse scenarios in life... We did it deliberately to annoy you 107 Nope seriously, it isn't that easy to maintain a mb and mistakes can and will happen. We'll get over it - and you are right: There are indeed worse scenarios in life ..

Your efforts are really appreciated by us members, and it is far better to have a volunteer than multiple forced appointments. Please reconsider.

But you'll find that you have far more people supporting you and forgiving you (on the board) than you will having a go at you; and anyone who does genuinely have a go at you is not worth worrying about (these sort of people never take any responsibility themselves and don't like people having a go at them either)! So you will carry on (we insist) and you will be a better admin and a stronger person for it. Have a good Christmas, and don't give it another moments thought....let it go (as the song goes)! Thanks all. Some lovely messages in this thread and privately. I really appreciate them.
Have decided to give my head a wobble and crack on as a mate of mine likes to stay. Therefore I'll be staying on as admin, (although you'll be pleased to hear I'm steering clear of category changes for a while)!
I'm sure today will cheer me up no end. Have woken up in a Yorkshire hotel to a lovely sunny morning and me and the wife are heading out shortly for a bit of shopping. This aft we're off to see Stated Quo and then this evening, Status Quo.
If that doesn't cheer me up then nothing will.
As Rick would say - Let's Rock.

Sounds as if you've got the near perfect day planned, apart from the shopping! Enjoy and have a blast.

Not that it matters much now but I think many old threads are still archived somewhere like this: web.archive.org/web/20160401202413/http://quocupsncafe.proboards.com/board/4/quo-chat-forum(Though note it only goes up to March.) So all is not lost.
