Status Quo have been forced to postpone their concert scheduled for tonight, Sunday 4 December 2016, at the Zenith venue in Paris due to illness. Frontman Francis Rossi has a viral infection of the throat.
Quo are primarily known for their touring and live shows, and the cancellation of shows is always a last resort. In order to make amends to the people of Paris who were due to attend the show, Status Quo confirm that they will reschedule the concert in early 2017. The actual date will be confirmed next week.
Fans are advised to hold onto their tickets for this postponed show, pending more information being made available. Anyone unable to attend the new date, once announced, and wishing to obtain a refund should return to their point of purchase.
Francis Rossi added, "We hate to have to reschedule shows and hope that the fans realise that this situation is outside our control".

Could't they have got the lead singer of Quo-caine to step in or maybe one of the bands family members? Just a thought i mean the show must go on and all that. ;@)x

So sorry for the fans in Paris, but health is more important. He said last night he had a soar throat. Suppose it got worse. Better he takes care of it and that they only have to postpone 1 concert than going on and having to cancel more...
Hopefully he will be feeling better again very soon.

Francis has to sing even more now, so that's additional strain for his throat (with BFM out and Softer Ride back in instead). At least he's got a few days now to recover. Hope he's fine again till Nottingham and the start of the UK leg of the tour. So I assume we'll get gig reports for either Brussels or Amsterdam or both .. ?

Me and my mate went to Paris for the gig last weekend from the UK. We made a weekend of it as I'd never been to Paris before, so it wasn't just about the gig. Mightily disappointed that they had to cancel at the last minute; we didn't know it was off so we turned up to the Zenith and there were people just standing around. We went to try and get in only to be told it was off. Went back to a bar and didn't really know what to do with ourselves....strange feeling.
I assume they did the soundcheck thinking he could get through it, and just decided he wouldn't be able to put on a good enough performance. Fair enough, these things happen. They are a last resort and I'm sure the decision wouldn't be taken lightly.
So they're going to rearrange the date for next year, and we'll have to decide if we can/want to go back, or opt to get a refund. I'm up for going back, but I'm also a busy person, so we'll have to wait and see when the date is. Still, Leeds and Liverpool to come before Christmas.

At least you were able to make the most of it while you were there anyway. Paris has indeed a lot to offer and places to visit. I'm sure there's still a wide choice of things for you to see, should you be able to make a second short holiday of it. Hope you didn't take the Eurostar though .. That's definitely the worst of the speed trains I ever had the misfortune to use.

Thanks everyone....it wasn't a major problem though, we had a good weekend and we're still going to get to see Quo in Leeds and Liverpool.
The Paris gig has been reaaranged for a different venue on Tuesday 2nd May! Much later than I anticipated, so possibly part of more European shows to be announced soon (Paris hasn't been announced yet, only e-mailed to ticket holders). Tickets from last week aren't valid for the new show because it's a different venue. I don't think we'll go back because it's mid-week....strange feeling not getting to see them in Paris, it feels like unfinished business.
