I've read a couple of references to HYB being released as a single, and the video shoot from Oberhausen would appear to back this up. Has anyone heard officially? If so, I'm puzzled that there's no mention of it on the official site, but there again all the marketing for A2 has been unusually low key.

If so, I'm puzzled that there's no mention of it on the official site, but there again all the marketing for A2 has been unusually low key. Garry Fielding's website have it in their news section that HYB is to be the next single and he's very, very reliable. The song is on BBC Radio2's C Play list at the moment but you're right, there hasn't been any official announcement as far as I can see. Perhaps, these days, "singles" are only released to radio stations to generate AirPlay to draw attention to the fact that there's an album out? Does anyone remember if there was any official single release for Aquostic1?

Thanks for that and yes. Again Radio 2 pumped it, "And it's Better Now" was an official release as well as the set opener.

The acoustic HYB version was played through the speakers after the Stuttgart gig.

And there was talk (somewhere) of Hold You Back being followed by another "single" but maybe that's been shelved. Jam Side Down rings a bell.
Certainly only That's A Fact and Hold You Back have been played live acoustically. The That's A Fact track being backed by Union Chapel footage for the main website.
These days, of course, they can pick and choose quite quickly and then change their minds again. Only promo CD's are produced (if at all). The days of mass producing vinyl or single CD's is long gone so there's much less up front cost to consider.

SWR1 played it exactly once. They played Belavista Man twice!

I heard it after the Amsterdam gig. They're not actually releasing it are they? Isn't it just promo copies sent to radio stations to play? And nobody is playing it because, well, it's not a Christmas record, is it? Sticking sleigh bells on the front over the intro does not make it a Christmas record. Whose bright idea was that? It's desperate. They'd have been better off recording an acoustic version of It's Christmas Time, and releasing that instead.
