Oh dear, having read that review, especially with regards to the new songs, and to hear they have a country tinge to them, tells me all I need to know, its Rossi material.
The only reason I wont cancel my pre order is because (as far as Im aware) Rick plays on the album, now if someone can confirm he didnt, then that will save me a few quid and I can cancel my order

"One of the new tracks, ‘That’s A Fact!’, opens proceedings. I did worry for a few seconds that the guys had gone with a cover of George Michael’s ‘Faith’ to get things going as the opening chords are much the same. I needn’t have worried though as the song soon turned into a feel good folk rock song with a great melody which has a bit of a Mariachi band feel to it." I think Rick does at least sing on the album I mean who else is going to sing Backwater and Ressurection. I think the album was recorded at the same time as AQ1

Yeah a track thats 40 years old is a brand new song. yeesh You've got to give him credit though, otherwise he seems to know his Quo. And the overall review is a good one. As far as I'm aware the A2 album was recorded this spring (April) and Rick was considerably more involved than with A1. Bryan Adams took new pics too, so the album sleeve (and booklet) could get interesting .. .

Nice little tune but is a Rossi vocal/track.

Appears to be a fair, balanced mature and informed review.
It'll be interesting to see whether the next Aquostic album is as much of a success as the last one!

Seems a fair enough review to me. Reads as if the bloke has actually listened to it before writing his piece.
Got to be honest, when Aquostic was first muted, I was less than enthusiastic and really thought I'd struggle to listen to a whole album of such material but in the end, I really loved it. Enjoyed the live show too.
Only heard the two new songs from the Hyde Park set and liked That's a Fact but wasn't that keen on the version of Hold You Back.
Looking forward to the album.

I quite liked Saddling Up as I thought it was creative and funny, but this is simple country and western, something Quo have never done (and something I've never liked). Left me cold at first listen, but maybe it'll grow on me ..

Rick does sing on the album. On quite a few tracks. I have no idea if he plays on it but I would have imagined so if it was recorded in the spring. That's a pretty decent review other than the mistake with That's A Fact. I do like the inclusion of the harmonica with this version and Francis's solo is short but very much on the money. He seems to be a very good acoustic guitarist. The track listing on this second Aquostic is more interesting than the first because all of the "usual suspects" were done. Like eggs in one basket? Let's hope not.

It won't sell as well as the first one...I've no doubt about that. Not slagging it, I'll buy it and listen to it and probably like it. But the first one was most of their Greatest Hits. Quo's greatest hits recorded in a different way that no-one already had on CD, so everyone bought it, old fans, current fans, casual fans and radio 2 listeners who liked what they heard. I hope it does well, although I'm not expecting too much. This is more like a regular Quo album, albeit acoustic.

I can't see it selling in the same quantities as before simply because of the track listing. The marketing and promotion for the first one was also quite exceptional for Quo in my experience and it definitely had an impact. Whether the new one will get the same treatment is impossible to tell. But the outlay will have had a good return and the music company will be acutely aware of that. Be interesting to see how the TV interviews and all that sort of thing goes as well. It's always Francis and Rick to the point of tedium. I doubt Rick will be there this time round. Be great if he was though. Can't really see why he shouldn't be. We shall see.

Thanks for confirming that Mortified, I will leave my pre order in place based on that info

It's hard to make a noise which is why i think Quo have thrown the kitchen sink at it. Obviously we ain't going to an electric album and if it has to be acoustic so be it.

Rick plays & sings on the album, but it was recorded earlier this year, not last year.

Last night I heard the Aquostic version of Backwater Is it in the 'same vein', or have they changed it significantly like Rain or Don't Drive my Car? I take it Rick sings it?

I'm probably best just saying "its different & I don't like it" and leave it at that, don't wanna upset the sensitive souls
