Was listening to the RTYD album today and it reminded me of how I used I dislike the title track when it came out until I heard it live.
I saw the band play it and I seem to remember there was a mirrorball there as part of the lighting effects, then for some reason it completely changed my opinion.
Still love it to this day, when the Aquostic version came out I thought the strings were superb. As the writer I wonder what Andrew thinks when he hears them live.

Brilliant song IMO.
I don't recall it being played live per se, I do recall it playing via the pa with the mirror ball just as Quo hit the stage many years ago.
That said I was very young back then and my memory isn't cracking!

Couldn't tell you what Quo played in Blackpool earlier this year tbh. I had a great night though, that much I do recall.

Hm, to be honest, with that little variety in the live set there's not that much to choose from .. From the FF set - Just Take Me has always been a skip track for me, but now I love it for the solo. I've always considered Oh Baby one of the weakest tracks on Piledriver, but live it worked with both line-ups. The album version of And It's Better Now I thought was rather uninteresting, but the acoustic version is beautiful. It was wonderful to finally get the whole of Nanana in one go as I love the song and always found the ripping it apart on the studio album annoying.

RestlessJust kiddin' Restless was one of the few songs from Quo I heard live before on record. Wasn't impressed with it live, then didn't think much of the recorded version when Thirsty Work came out. On the subsequent tour, when hearing it live again, my opinion was not changed, still rubbish.

Given the, eh, muted reaction it got first time round, it was a strange decision to play it on the next tour. Mind you, it was a single. I can't remember if it had bombed before the tour or after.
