awesome day, for more than one reason! Doors were a great opener, just like the day before, Naz were solid with their new singer, Heep did a fantastic Show (I met Bernie Shaw and Phil Lanzon later on!), can't say much about E Burdon as I missed most of his set, and then the mighty Quo, who put on a solid rocking Show, this time with Junior's Wailing starting the encore (unlike the day before when they were forced to ditch it, as they were on a bit late) Arrived at our Hotel, about 10 km away from Clam, wo walks in? Rhino, Andy and Leon... Met up with Rhino, whom I should've met the day before, but there were some... erm.. problems. Anyway, he organzied something awesome for me and we met up in the late afternoon, and I finally had my 2 Quo Teles signed by Rick and Francis!!! Awesome man, thanks Rhino!

Seems like you had a fantastic rockin' weekend - and well done, Rhino ! I've been thinking about Burg Clam - looks like the perfect setting .. but it's a 5h drive and it was a busy weekend anyway .. *sigh*

Yep, can't thank Rhino enough (well I brought him a bottle of Austrian Sauvignon Blanc at least!)
Clam, it's a real nice setting indeed! Was at Wiesen the day before which is only a 20/25 Minute drive away from me compared to the 2h+ drive to Clam, but a friend of mine who was with me at Clam for the first time said he'll go to Clam next time instead of Wiesen (as the Festivals usually have the same/similar lineup for these 2 days)... At Clam, there's a brilliant view to the stage whereever you are standing, the acoustics are better (esp. if you're Standing at the front), there are videowalls, too, and between the bands there's always enough space to get almost to the very front

anyway, the location is worth going to!
Incidentially, today Mark Knopfler is playing there, but on Tuesday he's playing in St. Margarethen/Burgenland, which is just a little bit more than a half hour away from me, and the location should be gorgeous, too: the Römersteinbruch (which is also used as an open air opera site)

Wow ! That looks stunning ! ..and you can see why the region is called Burgenland . - guess the pic is taken during an opera with everybody seated. I've never been to that part of Austria, the furthest to the east has to be Wien (Vienna). I'm not that keen on Dire Straits or MK either, Quo should play there !

correct, that's from an opera (although I don't know - and care - which one)... this year they have Tosca (?!) Well, they don't Play 7 days a week, so that concerts can take place during 'day offs'. Anyway, I'm looking Forward to that one, a MK gig with that scenery...! Romeo and Juliet :lolflg: btw, this particular Castle is part of the opera scenery, not a real one (the quarry, however, is (well, was, way back when))
