Very good and detailed report, Inna, I enjoyed reading that. Some interesting details as well. Must've felt really strange for Quo with an audience like that, but then they're seasoned pros and have probably seen it all and more than once .. Going by your description it wasn't the same location where we had seen Quo years ago (there was no lake, only the river). They do play more than three summer shows in Germany though: There are quite a few dates in July. Lörrach would probably be the closest for us, but I admit I'm not interested in the summer set.

Seems like you were really unlucky with this one. Reading on the other mbs, it looks like everybody who attended thought this was a very bad gig - as opposed to all the other gigs this summer. I suppose the setting with the large VIP area in front of the stage was to blame for it mainly, as it obviously destroyed the atmosphere for band and audience alike - and it will have kept people from buying tickets, so will have been responsible for the poor attendance at least to a degree.
A few nice pics there - seem to be gone now though :dunce:

A few nice pics there - seem to be gone now though :dunce: Unlucky? Me? How? To me, it was a great gig insofar as Quo played fantastically, seemed to be enjoying themselves on stage, and the sound was clear, loud and heavy. The VIP area has a lot to answer for, though, and a gig in broad daylight is not to everyone's liking. As I said in my report, there where we were standing, the fans were cheering and singing along. I don't know about some of the other fans on the other MBs. They must have been at a different gig then, or not there at all (they are the ones who always know best anyway), or it was too early in the day for them. I'm not sure about the tickets. As I said in my report, VIP tickets weren't on sale when I bought ours. But they were there later on, at a very steep price. So I guess the people responsible for the Kunstrasen decided to make some more money and milk the fans with their extra expensive VIP tickets for them to be allowed in front of the stage. And, as I said, they weren't necessarily Quo fans but there for Alice Cooper. When we arrived at the venue, there were VIP tickets on offer for only €10 more than what we had paid for ours, which I considered a very bad thing to do to the fans. Most of them had already got their tickets well before the date of the gigs. So, no, not me, I wasn't unlucky with that Quo gig. There was some lack of atmosphere due to the weather and the VIP area and the overall beer festival attitude, but I enjoyed myself tremendously. And I'm not just saying it, I mean it. Sorry if other fans see it differently, but there you are. BTW, I can still see the pics when I click on the link I put up yesterday. Maybe my browser playing up again ? Sometimes I can see pics - sometimes they're gone - was the same with the photos Mac put up recently :dunce: . Could've been reading those disastrous gig reports left an impression on me .. You bought your tickets very early, but I guess most people probably didn't and when they went for them, maybe the VIP category already existed and kept people from buying tickets ? I know it would've kept me away - tickets are expensive enough anyway and then to be forced to stand that far back would not constitute VFM for me.
