I love BBJ the way it's done on On the Level, but I don't like what they've done to the song in recent years. It was a relief to hear it played "properly" again by the "Frantics". I don't much like it on OTL, because I don't think Alan's voice suits the song on record. His live versions are much better. The snippets of varying length the band has done after Alan left just to have the bye-bye at the end are pointless and superfluous IMO.

Forgot all about this place Any road up, I Saw The Light for me; one of my all time top 5 Quo tracks. And Nightride. A mighty fine album although I was never keen on this version of Bye Bye Johnny. Not sure why.

Not sure why. .. not that it never gets mentioned on the now really dark side .. Welcome (back) though, Billy Seems we nearly all agree on BBJ. I suppose the singing is the problem as it's really weak and lacks the power of the live version. - And the song suffers from overexposure, especially since it's never played in full IMO. I've come to hate the snippets 107 .
