Hello,
Well, 4 gigs in 20 days, Mannheim report already done, case you think I am going off me trolley.
Liverpool; For us it would be a 440 mile return drive over the weekend, so went by train, apart from Frankfurt to Mannheim, first
time I have been on a train in 15 years. Gave it a blast on first class. Yep it was easy, someone coming round with a bit of food,
and a lounge at each station, do for us .
Jurys Inn hotel, which is right by the Echo arena.
Had a wander round Albert Dock, done the Beatles museum. It's a nice place to walk round, shops bars and restaurants.
Hello Rhino .
Ready for the gig. Front row, Rick side, only got half of Chas and Dave's set, but enjoyed it. The Model got Dave's plectrum
A quick visit to the refreshment area and back to our seats. As usual you people standing at the rail from gawd knows where they come from,
but the stewards saw the off.
Back to a few years ago, with a big curtain in front with Status Quo tour 2014/2015 on it. Lights dimmed, the drone,
then a spotlight from behind showing Rick in position, really effective, then the opening bars of Caroline and down comes the curtain and the
3 members of the string section trot forward , loved it.
You know the set, but as usual it is served up with excitement generated by the band, it just seems they are enjoying every minute.
The phrase "on fire" is used quite a bit to describe their performance, which is correct, but to us it also feels like a massive bunch of
friends getting together for a great time. That don't sound right, but bugger it, it's staying in. I know what I mean .
Encore time and Burning Bridges back in, glad to see that.
Oh yes, Wild Side of Life, Francis is back to saying, "I like this one", so no more panicking. :lolflg:
Back to the hotel,a night cap .
Back home Sunday.
Birmingham; Drove this time. Jurys Inn again, one of the nearest hotels to NIA. There was a Christmas Market opposite, so we had a wander,
but the bloody thing went on forever, all the way down to the Bull Ring shopping centre. Our poor little legs, The Model is short enough as it is :lolflg:
Everywhere I looked I could see Gluwhein, did you organise that snakelady , no we didn't have any, not that I don't like it .
The place was absolutely packed, Francis was right when he said they call it the Bull Ring because you are herded about.
A little bit of food, back to the hotel, quick scrub and change and off we jolly well go.
The venue about 10 minute walk away, we walked along the canal, nice and romantic, sums me up really . You can see there has been quite
a bit of money spent on the area.
Never been to this venue before, a bit like the NEC, but slightly smaller. Sitting in the front row Rhino side but near the centre. Again late for Chas and Dave set, did not realise 7.30. start.
I wore a loud check shirt, and still someone didn't come up to say hello , next time
On the boys come, Commander Rossi and his troops. Complete enjoyment and that's only the band.
Gigs so far, the sound has been good. The keyboards were more in evidence tonight. Good to see Leon on a few backing vocals.
Also a very good lighting, not overboard, just enough.
The same set,,, honest , but served up with total commitment for the audience. Kept Burning Bridges in, good job.
Back to the hotel, a few refreshments, a big Christmas party going on, which made a nice end to the evening, including the woman, who
insisted we view her knickers, not once but twice. I didn't know where to look .
Brighton; Jaimie and Jodie came with us, love it. Stayed in The Old Sip Hotel. Nice place. Really lovely sunny day. Had late breakfast in
Buddies, if you have been to Brighton, you must know it. A little bit of shopping, back to the hotel, lovely red sunset over the sea, then off to the gig.
This time saw the whole Chas and Dave set.
I think this was a great choice, they get everyone going and I know they are nice fellas, A'int No Pleasing You had the whole audience
singing along.
2nd row centre stage, great view. There were 4 people in front of us, who obviously did not realise, that when Quo come on people descend
on the rail at the front. They were a bit upperty. One of them decided to sit all through the gig, trouble was The Models chest area was the level
of the top of his head, she is fairly well endowed, I can say that she's not looking :lolflg:. We were sure he was moving his head backward and forward
on purpose.
Again another great night, Status Quo typically enjoying themselves, and it certainly rubs off on the crowd. I got tumbled by Rhino for
not getting on me toes, took the piss out of me, bully, My daughter in law thought that was marvellous and encouraged him to carry on
so Burning Bridges, I made the effort, cheers mate. Jodie says she's gonna tell all on face book (never use it myself) Anyway she's out of the
will .
No Francis I do not want a haircut like yours, ta very much
I think tonight was the best sound. A good venue. Hello to the couple from Denmark !!!
Sorry we did not meet Loz.Next time, yes,. Bumped into Rossi Haze and her mate, looking for Buddies, glad to have helped.
So there we were eating cod and chips at 11.30.pm, ish, sitting on a bench facing the sea, was a little bit fresh don't yer know.
Back to the hotel for a beer or two, love being out with my family.
Home, dropped them off, into Windsor for a bit if Christmas shopping, not my idea,.
Home know typing this, who would have guessed. .
Had a great year of Status Quo gigs, so thank you to them
I would also like to thank;
The Model
My Boys
My daughters in Law's
My little grandson Parker.
My staff, alright you can have Christmas day off
Kathrin and her family for being so nice
All you Status Quo people we have met this year.
All you lovely people on here, your all the cream of the crop
The dark side for not letting us down with your caustic views, bugger off.
Anybody I have missed, sorry
Last but not least, our bank balance for withstanding the pressure
What do mean, enough is enough,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, yeah you are right
Enjoy Life
