Yes it was Fab! (frantic fab) They were slightly nervy but the sound was great. I really liked all the vocals going on, with I think all of the band members singing. Kudos to Bown who I thought had a great sound on the honky tonk old joanna! Also Rossi's acoustic soloing was impressive, bending those bluesy acoustic strings was no mean feat.

People here seem to like Status Quo, unlike the venom that is spewed out by a few on another board I visit. Think I'm gonna like it here. Hello :wlcm:
Question............why the name elvis57? I ask because I suspect 1957 was a bit before your time. That was the year I discovered rock and roll when Heartbreak Hotel was released. Then came Quo. :bss:
Well I'm a big Elvis fan, yes 1957 is a few years before I was born (four to be exact) but for some reason I chose 57.

I should imagine it was great to be there & I'd happily trot along to an acoustic gig, but it was a bit strumalong with most of the musical highlights provided by the supplementary musicians & the acoustic setting served to highlight the limitations of Francis & Ricks voices, somthing that's less exposed in a rock setting. It'll be interesting to see what they do for Volume 2.

I never voted on this. I don't think I was on here in 2014. So I've just put my pen to paper Best gig I'd been to in years. Every word of every song sung by an enthusiastic crowd. An atmosphere not truly captured by the BBC coverage at the time unfortunately.

I would have loved to visit the acoustic gig at the Roundhouse! I love the album and the dvd! It felt so fresh and interesting with lots of songs seldom or never played before and new arrangements, far more interesting than the ordinary same old electric set list. I could do without the accordion, but still, this was a great idea! (Not too sure about the second acoustic album though, the novelty excitement wasn't there anymore)

I was just searching for an old poll and stumbled upon this. It's heart warming and great to see the overwhelmingly positive reactions the Roundhouse gig received - and deservedly though IMO. At the same time it makes me sad seeing how many members are gone now - either forever or have stopped posting. Shame too the A2 tour never happened. Now with all that's happened since, I wonder if the band will be able to revive their career (and the mb ) once again this year. Would be nice to get something special just one more time .. .

One abiding memory (sneakily edited out by the BBC on the official releases ) was the reception that Jo Whiley got when she walked on stage in a rather fetching red dress to introduce the band. She was treated like the pantomime villain and booed mercilessly. I'm not actually sure why. But it was strangely funny

Outstanding, mate. Good to see a well written and, more importantly, well informed gig review. I missed that Glasgow gig because Mrs Mortified's dad had passed away (we missed Wolverhampton as well) but my sis was there and she said it was brilliant. In the end, I only managed to get to 3 Aquostic gigs; the Roundhouse, Union Chapel (if that counts) and Barcelona. And I really wish I'd been able to do more.
