I loved it, too. It was absolutely brilliant. Oh my God, they were fantastic! It was the best thing I have listened to in a long while. Status Quo, I kiss the ground beneath your feet. You are sooo great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kissing Ok, but rather the boys themselves than the ground

Very different and very enjoyable. I think Francis was in his element in that setting and loving singing the songs in that way. Some worked better than others and I still can't think why they didn't do a version of 'Living on an island' which has always been a favourite of mine but hey ho you can't have everything. It was a bit like Status Quo have only just caught up with the concept of MTV's Unplugged 25 years later but it was worth the wait. Rhino played a sneaky electric bass on a few songs but we'll overlook that.... well done to all involved.

I really enjoyed watching it, just listening to it could be a different kettle of fish though........... The antenna is aligned in the wrong direction. The Red Button won't work for us here. Ain't that a shame? But I really enjoyed listening to the gig. Better than nothing at all, right? Anything is better than nothing.......... so they tell me.........

Just fantastic.
Great tunes and (I think) a great performance from everyone on stage tonight.
I feel as high as a kite and think I'll have difficulty in getting to sleep tonight.

Anything is better than nothing.......... so they tell me......... Listening to a Quo gig is better than not being able to see them live, I'm telling you. Listening AND being able to share all the excitement in the shoutbox was fantastic indeed.

Just had a close up of Miniquo belting out the words to Marguerita Time :lolflg:
Apparently it IS possible (and permissible) to like both Marjy and Slow Train
Watching Nanana now on the loop. It's fabulous.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, best track for me was Paper Plane sounded amazing with the accordion. 2nd was Burning Bridges it sounded awesome with the violins doing the Darby Kelly part. Can't wait for the album to arrive but I'll have to I guess as it's on my xmas list.

I was there and have just watched it back on red button loop. Unbelievably brilliant concert. I would have loved Blessed are the meek. But I got Claudie. Wow. Amazing night.

Can't wait for the album to arrive but I'll have to I guess as it's on my xmas list. Had it on my birthday wish list (for November), but simply had to delete it from the list and buy it immediately (after having confirmed that no-one had bought it for a present already) Glad you enjoyed the gig.

Lucky you Some of us on here were with you so-to-speak and built the best remote audience ever. But honestly: you lot at the Roundhouse sounded loud & proud on air. An amazing night indeed.

Really enjoyed what I've seen so far (I was out and haven't watched it all yet). I was different to a normal gig (obviously) and took a bit of getting used to, but I definitely prefered it live to just the CD on it's own.....I don't dislike it, but I'm hoping it's a grower! (:Acoustic guitar gremlin:)

on the basis of what i saw last night i went and bought the cd this morning. I've heard quite a few on FB saying that on the basis of last night they will be buying the CD now (ones that weren't actually going to buy the CD, so that was good too!). Brilliant concert. LOVED watching it and chatting on the shoutbox at the same time... it felt like there were a few of us all around a table whispering between songs about various parts of the concert and then when the next song came on we'd all chip in with little bits of what we thought of it... fantastic night. Favourite song of the night for me? Just going on memory from last night I'd say Matchstick Men stood out for me... and Claudie was wonderful too. Seeing Dylan (miniquo) pop up on the TV was just a beauty too! So unexpected and really had me smiling because he's such a nice bloke and there he was on TV singing along to Quo I'll definitely be watching that again. Well done Status Quo

It was brilliantly done... One of the best concerts I've watched on TV.
It's amazing how stripping it down to acoustic brings out the melodies and subtitles.
The media have been so dismissive of Quo in the past, they really are very underrated as musicians and writers.

Just reading through this thread again makes me grin like a Cheshire cat - what an amazing band they are, with Francis the standout performer last night. For the first time ever I thought Margarita Time sounded great, but the standout tracks for me were probably Claudie, Rock'n'Roll, POMM and Rock 'Til You Drop.

:DMe and my wife went last night. Thought it was absolutely awesome. We were about 10 rows back in the standing area so had a great view. Have been going to see the band every year since 1985 (first gig was Wembley stadium with Alarm, INXS and Queen). Went to Birmingham LG Arena for last years winter tour and it was 1st time we came away from a Quo concert feeling let down as they were so dire and 10cc were miles better. On that night Rossi couldn't sing (possibly due to a bad cold) and had to keep missing the words. The place was only half full and it was missing the Quo atmosphere. Really thought they had lost it which is a shame as Quo is my number 1 passion. Back to last night though and what a difference. The vocals, harmonies, backing singers (very fit by the way....or as Francis said eye candy 1 and 2) and the additional musicians made it the best concert we have been to by far. It was clear that everybody on stage could see that they were putting on a great show and had nailed it big time. Just got home and having recorded it on Sky box have watched it back already and well pleased to see ourselves on the video. Judging by the smile on Francis's face there is clearly going to be an acoustic tour next year. After the gig, got chatting to people in The Enterprise bar across the road and even the FF die hards said it was a great gig. We have tickets for this years winter tour at Nottingham and after last night I am now wishing they scrap the usual set and put on a repeat of last night. The Aquostic album, by the way, for those that have not yet bought is also superb. Happy Quoing ahead me thinks.
