Sorry it's a bit late, not been that great this week, as I put on the "wot yer doing this weekend" thread. In case you were worried where I was for the last 8 days or so. NO ,,,oh well as Frankie Howard would say, "please yourselves"
Anyway;
Sandown, race and rock, didn't work to well at Doncaster, so lets see how we go.
A local gig for once, well 25 miles away. Going with our eldest son and daughter in law and meeting a couple Andy and Maura,
coming over from Dublin for the gig.
Jaimie and Jodie are a bit anti horse racing, especially the jumps, but wanted to see a few races. We got there for the last 3.
I told Jodie how to put a bet on at the tote and as she was walking up to the window she kept repeating what she had to say. :lolflg:
It lost. !!!
Last race, and guess who's waiting for the race to finish before going to the stage area, yep them 2.
Met up with Andy and Maura. First met them and their friends at a Quo gig in Zurich in 2011 and have met up at various gigs,
the last one being Dublin back in April, lovely couple.
All got close to the front Rhino side. I looked around, Jaimie, pint of ale, Jodie, cider, Andy and Maura beer and the model, well as she
said, had to be done,,,Pimms,,,,in a pint glass and me a bottle of still water. OH WELL.
The Drone, I think it should be called the Welcome Mat.
and on they stroll,
the skin beater to his seat
the ivory tinkler to his L shape
the 3 axe men to their collection point
a little wave and bang into Caroline. Just love hearing that song kick off the gigs, it always gives us a lift
A fairly big crowd behind us and you could hear the singing along.
Then into the same set as before, who cares it's great. Enjoy it whilst you can :bss:
Had 2 fellas try to push their way in and stood right in front, both puffing on cigars
so I thought a gentle tap on both shoulders was in order, they turned round, I pointed to the model,
who's only 5foot 4" in high heels, both said sorry and moved off. Nice. Put yer knuckle duster back in yer handbag model , my little one. :haha:
All to soon, up comes Rocking All Over The World. Everyone jumping up and down and singing along, when I say everyone, I was springing
on me toes, but tell you what this was the best tonic I could have had. Then the encore.
The band as always just looked and behaved happy, they must thrive on the reception they always get, fantastic.
Good to see such a variation in ages and also possibly the race goers that stayed now know that Status Quo are a top entertaining band.
And off we trundled to meet our driver, said goodbye to Andy and Maura Ps Andy was on the original board,, andymac
Got to say well done to Sandown Race course, well organised
That's it, till Clumber Park
Enjoy Life
