Anyone going?
I fancy going to Sheffield, as I’m from around that area and re-visit some old haunts.
I’ve revisited a lot of their stuff lately due to their new album. Going back to my Yoof.

I'd need to check the dates and venues. Would either of them fill a stadium in the UK at this late stage in their respective careers? Interesting. Def Leppard's recent album is very good to be fair. If it's next summer, it gives me time to grow my hair, bleach the back of my denim jacket and browse t'internet for a pair of spandex

They were packing them in around the states this year along with Poison and Joan Jett, so expect there will be another couple of names added. I need to book our tix this weekend, I want to go to Sheffield but the timings a bit orf, so I may do Wembley. Nice call on the Spandex, are you sure they’ll let you in the stadium. You may get arrested for crimes against fashion 🙂

I'm not sure I was ever a big enough fan of Def Leppard to warrant travelling to see them. And Mötley Crüe were never my thing. They arrived just as me and metal were having a trial separation 😏

I don’t think Mrs B will particularly like them. 🙂 I will get tix for somewhere

I've always liked it when strings have been added to rock music. It doesn't happen often but when it does it can be very effective.
That isn't bad. Presumably its some sort of remix because the vocals sound exactly like the originals.

Its a wonder. They do like a promotional angle or two I suppose Rick and Francis performing at Night of the Proms is the closest they've come to that. And the strings throughout the Aquostic albums as well. In fact, the strings on Pictures of Matchstickmen are extremely effective and enhance the whole thing.

The Leppard / Crue gig was fantastic, esp Leppard.
It was a little low on numbers, 60,000 in a 90,000 stadium, but the crowd was very loud to make up for it.
Leppard Certainly know how to entertain and they are one of those bands that have an amazing back catalogue.

60,000 is a very good attendance. Where was it? 90,000 capacity seems large for Sheffield! Glad you enjoyed it though 👍 The only Def Leppard album I think I own in full is Hysteria. Which i did really like at the time. Scarily, that time was about 35 years ago I took Mrs Mortified to see Rod Stewart at Edinburgh Castle on Friday. He was on her bucket list. Not really my thing but I quite enjoyed it.

It was Wembley, but to be fair I think it was more about pricing than anything because at the back in the cheap seats where we were it was rammed, but the floor was half empty. It just smacks of the promoter pushing their luck with the prices. As you say 60k was still a good attendance for a cpl of older bands. I’m with you on Rod Steward, I don’t mind a few songs but wouldn’t bother paying the money to see him, unless he was on a bill with Quo…. Oh he’s done that hasn’t he 😆

Oh he’s done that hasn’t he 😆 When me and sis went to see Quo support Rod at Celtic Park all those years ago, we actually left after Quo had finished. So we never saw the main feature. I did see him in 1977. I was just mentioning that to Mrs Mortified. That I first saw him when I was a teenager and didn't see him live again until I was almost an OAP! I think that says more about him than me. That he's still going, still singing well it has to be said and still pulling in the large crowds. As for the ticket thing, I think I know where you're coming from. One or two empty seats near the front. Not so much the price I don't think but the fact that you couldn't buy two tickets where 3 seats were left. I know because I tried. Ticketmaster insisted that you couldn't leave one seat on it's own. But Rod still gets his money and those "resale" tickets are left burning a hole in someone's pocket. I like to think there's some justice in that.
