He's certainly got a lot of it tied up. But I notice July and August are free, so I imagine they'll be looking at some festivals. And December of course. It's tradition Never say never....

I think it's the "festival experience" that people go for. I was only ever interested in the music and sitting (or standing) through 20 acts to see the one I want isn't for me. Quo at Castle Donington and Milton Keynes nailed that particular sail to the mast for me. Miserable, unsociable sod that I am

There's a fairly recent interview with Francis where he admits that an album of new Quo material is unlikely. He says that studio costs and all manner of other outlays are at the heart of it and the music company simply won't pay for it. And if they don't, who will? He doesn't actually say if he wants to do a new album or not but I get the impression he's not that bothered either way. But then he's not a fan

I went to BST Hyde Park in 2017 where Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were headlining. Waited and waited from about 12 noon until 8pm, endured about four different acts, then Stevie Nicks performed her set. Luckily the weather was good.

He has his own studio so recording costs would be minimal. Of course theres promotion, etc. CDs can be printed for £3 each. He's the best producer Quo ever had. If needs be he could try crowd funding. I'm not hugely interested in new product but Backbone was interesting so I would buy.

I find his attitude slightly contradictory in that he won't do a Quo album for financial reasons (although he's never completely ruled it out) but recorded an album with Hannah Rickard which I presume was for artistic reasons because it couldn't have made much money. If any. He's even hinted at doing another one. I'd love him to have the same artistic enthusiasm for Quo material. In other words, let it lose money. As long as you enjoy doing it. He's surely wealthy enough now to take that approach. But I don't think he's that interested. Fair enough. I wish he'd come out and say it though. I'd respect that. I'm looking forward to Rhino's Revenge III which I'm sure will be a labour of love for Mr Edwards. And that comes across in the recordings. One of my favourite bands these last few years.

And Francis did say in whatever social media forum it is he contributes to that he'd see everyone with Quo in 2024. 👍

I'd certainly be more interested in a new album than in another compilation. Although this one at least brought some songs back into the live setlist.

I don't know what it is about compilations. I've never understood the attraction. Well, maybe one or two but endless releases of songs already out there on other compilations is beyond my comprehension. But almost all acts of any longevity are given that treatment. Easy releases on the run up to Christmas, Fathers Day or whenever. Its not like they're going to attract a new audience. Which probably explains why I'm not in charge of a music company
