Surprised no one has put this on here in view of Fran citing him as an influence on their performance and energy in the music.
RIP 🙂

Yeah, saw that on Saturday. One of the most influential artists of all time probably along with Elvis, Chuck, Jerry Lee and Buddy Holly. Only Jerry Lee Lewis left now. RIP, wee man

Little Richard and Chuck Berry.
That's all you need for Rock'n'Roll.
IMHO.

It was great to hear Werner Reinke on HR1 celebrating his work and legacy with an hour-long program, including outrageous interview bits and also songs by people he was influenced by (Mahalia Jackson!) and were influenced by him (Otis Redding!). He also spoke fondly of some of his contemporaries like Fats Domino or Chuck.
Besides being an incredibly powerful singer and piano player, he was one of the first to break down the barriers as far as gender stereotypes in pop music goes. In that sense, many artists owe something to him.
RIP.
