I was never a massive Slade fan back when they were at their peak; the odd single like everyone else. I only ever saw them live when they got their second wind in the late 70's/early 80's. Pretty much riding on the heavy metal wave at the time. I think I bought a single called Lock Up Your Daughters.
And I have to hold my hands up and say that Slade Alive is one of the best live albums you're ever likely to hear.
But I always really liked this. Seems to be a proper live version as well. Never seen this before. Great to hear it again.

I do have a preference for the 1980s era of the band. Top songs for me are, Lock Up Your Daughters, Run Runaway, Myzsterious Mr Jones, Ruby Red and My Oh My.
I think Dave Hill plays some really good guitar solos, definitely an overlooked guitarist.

If I’m pushed it wold be 80’s era for me as that was when I was starting to get into Rock music. Well Bring The House Down and Till Def Do Us Part we big albums for me.
My older brother is a massive Slade fan and that’s why we r going.
In return tho I turned him on to Quo and he’s seen them loads of times.
Good choices for all of the above tho 🙂

Never been a Slade fan .. Yep, he's considered iconic, but Noddy's singing is just too shrill for my taste.

Forgot about that one Very noticeable to a Quo fan back then. Especially one that frequented the Glasgow Apollo every year

Similar to there being two Quo's - John Coghlan's Quo and (Francis Rossi's) Status Quo - there are now two versions of Slade as well: - Read here ----> LouderSound.com/classicrock

Doesn't seem right not having the 'voice' of Slade at the helm. Sort of makes them tribute bands. Or does it? But I guess we've had that discussion a million times. Without a definitive answer

When we saw them on a Saturday night it was a good show and the set list was also good. However both myself and my brother were disappointed that Don wasn’t there on drums.
Dave Hill was the main man, standing centre stage and sang backing vocals.
I enjoyed it but probably wouldn’t rush back, but to be fair the venue didn’t make the best atmosphere.
I think the only thing that would get me back was a full blown reunion of all 4 members. Which probably won’t happen 🙂

I'm going for favourite Slade album....Slade Alive. I agree that Alive is a good album, but I prefer Alive vol 2 which was a late 70’s album.
