It's that time of year again! (I'm talking about the true original by the way - the Baden-Württemberg version, there is a separate one for Rheinland-Pfalz that already took place, I think). Voting is up until 13th Oct, the hitparade gets played from Oct 21 to 25. This is how Quo have been doing last year, with 2017 positions in brackets behind: RAOTW # 375 (339) WYW # 395 (358) Gerdundula (!) # 609 (724) Caroline # 845 (766) In the Army Now # 899 (895) Outside of the played region (1000+): WYP # 1288 (1184) Down Down # 1532 (1412) The Wanderer # 1747 (?) Living on an Island # ? (1947) As you can see, it's only a few old warhorses... Gerdundula being the one big exception. Not only because it wasn't a big hit but also because it's been creeping higher and higher each year. I'd love to see a new song from Backbone up there but realistically it's a losing game. They played the title track once, Cut Me Some Slack once, Backing Off once, Liberty Lane not at all I think... although the latter would've been my choice, I think Backbone has better chances because it's the title track and perhaps catchier. www.swr.de/swr1/bw

What about we all vote for the same Quo tunes ? What about
a) Backbone b) Liberty Lane c) Down Down d) Wild Side Of Life e) Caroline
??
I've just voted for these 5 songs, so it should be easier now for every further vote for them, as the site should propose the title when you start typing it.

I can't just vote for Quo! But I will choose Backbone as it's been the single.

Also, they are aware of what they call "fanclub manipulation", so it might back-fire www.swr.de/swr1/bw/hitparade/Teilnahmebedingungen-SWR1-Hitparade,hitparade-teilnahmebedingungen-100.html

I love too many other bands to even vote for more than one song by one band or artist. Never done that, in fact. My current list doesn't even include Pink Floyd or Marillion!

Genesis - Firth of Fifth You've got to consider - who needs the votes the most ? 1.+5. will be in anyway (and I've never heard of 4. - does he stand a chance anyway ? ). Got to support Quo on here - after all this is a Quo mb.

Not sure what this is all about. Have we done this before? Whatever it is, I'm getting a "404 error" when I click on the link. Maybe not available to UK voters?

It's available to everyone and we have done it before - but it's not easy - and that's when you speak the lingo. The fact that I've voted for these 5 should make it easier. I'll see if I can come up with another link

Genesis, yes, but I do like to have at least one song that definitely is in. Kinda depressing to vote for five songs only to discover none have gotten in! Sam Fender is a newcomer whom I quite like (and he plays guitar, what else, with that name!), but as his song is not even on the list, I think you're right. SWR3 and HR1 have been playing him, SWR1 not so much... The number of viewers is kinda re-assuring when it comes to the future of rock music! Last time around, I gave one vote to "The Outfield" by The Night Game, who IMO are the best newcomer band pop has seen in this entire century so far, but it only scrapped into the Top 2000...
