I'm not saying this was influenced by Quo - far from it! But had they recorded something like this, I would not be unhappy! It would not sound amiss on Over And Out either, even lyrically. I like this. Robbie's back with a belter

What's he trying to come across as with his repeated middle finger ? Sorry, not super cool - I don't like it.

Didn't we used to have an emoji for that? I'm going to play it again now. Musically it's been done a million times before but I don't care. I love it. He's got my hair do as well. I'm SUCH an influence

Sorry for banging on about this but there's a great line in the lyrics: " I felt so lonely, tried to end it all Jumped of my wallet, landed in my swimming pool"
Kudos

I have listened a few times now an really like it.
I see there is a 70’s Quo dance thing going on by Robbie in there as well, perhaps that’s his acknowledgment as well.
Good Call.

Not a massive Robbie fan but I did like this one from a couple of years ago, which I believe was written by The Killers.
Not sure about the video tho.

I like this. Robbie's back with a belter I agree with you Morty. I definitely think it would have sat well on Over and Out. He's definitely starting to look middle aged though, and the whole 20s/30's cool thing/image is starting to look very contrived. Not that he cares.....as you say, it's just Robbie being Robbie. I do like the song though. It's not too dissimilar to some of his early stuff imo.

More guitar driven than I'd expected at the time. Although I could always have done without Angels. But that's me and ballads all over He's in his mid 40's now but I suppose if we think of other acts who have tried to maintain a cool or rebellious image as they got older he'd be in good company. Having said that, he has a Las Vegas residency coming up which takes him through to the summer. That, alas, puts him in Celine Dion territory A bit of a contradiction is Robbie. But like another act of some standing we know, he doesn't give a toss

But like another act of some standing we know, he doesn't give a toss Good post. I too was thinking of Life Thru a Lens; Lazy Days, Old Before I Die, and Let Me Entertain You spring to mind. Plenty of acts have tried to retain their image for as long as they could....it took Francis until he was about 60 to cut off his pony tail. I suppose in some cases the artist thinks that the fan wants/needs that image. In terms of the contradiction, I suppose parts of that are down to ageing and maturing and showing an interest in different things. Madonna has always flitted from one type of music to another (is that the same). And Rick was as much a contradiction as Francis imo. I bought all Robbie's albums up to and including Intensive Care. Since then I haven't bought them, I've just liked bits and pieces. Edit: (I suppose this is how a lot of older Quo fans who were there from 1972 felt about the mid-later stuff). I don't think he was as consistent after he stopped working with Guy Chambers full time (I know he's done a few things with him again more recently). I'm going to go and listen to him now on Amazon Music (21st Century listening these days)!!
