Yet another acoustic journey for a long established act. Bit of a trend of late. The parallels with Quo are interesting, although probably not deliberate. You have an album called Unzipped and a tour called Starkers. The deluxe edition is huge - 5 discs of it. Lots of "rehearsals versions" and demos. All a bit ballady and big hair soft rock for me but some of it ain't bad. Here's a taster.

I absolutely loved the Starkers in Tokyo live album, still think it's one of Cov's best pieces of work. The simplicity lets truly great songs speak for themselves and his singing was really good back then.

I got the Starkers in Tokyo CD when it came out years ago, think it is okay, nice for the odd listen when not wanting to hear full on rock music. Doubt I’ll get this boxset though, I can only imagine the recent performances not being up to scratch given how Coverdale’s voice has sounded on recent tours. Might give it a listen on Spotify and see for sure.
