Not sure it really qualifies as up and coming, but see Deep Purple have announced a UK tour for next October, so I'll be making a ticket purchase for that this week.

Not a Floyd fan unfortunately ☹️ Not a Floyd fan either - and nothing unfortunate about it Well, at least everything from The Wall on. Even though most pupils suddenly became fans due to not really grasping the lyrics. (Reminds me of Zappa's Bobby Brown .. )

Am now going to see Gun, FM and Dan Reed Network next Tuesday.
It’s actually my wife’s birthday so I’ve had to pull some strings to get the night off. 😁

I do like several Floyd albums but can't seem to get into some others. Personal favourites are Wish You Were Here and The Division Bell which are superb, but I have real difficulty with Animals, The Final Cut and The Wall for example. Happy with bits and pieces in between.

Animals is still a stone-cold classic in my book though.

As little bit of trivia; their track, Run Like Hell, one of the better ones from The Wall I think, was the theme tune for Scottish football on the BBC back in the early 80's. A programme called Sportscene which is still on to this day. Although it's a pale, amateurish shadow of it's former self. So there you are. Bet you'll sleep better now

Cats in Space at the Garage tonight. Was going to go see Clutch on Wednesday at the Roundhouse but because of the ty South West Trains I would have to only see 30 minutes of them in order that I can leave on time to get the train back home. Also crap that there are 2 supports eating up the time. You'd think band/venues in London would have a little bit of a think and maybe get things going a bit earlier by taking things like the strike into account. Unfortunately unless I have a major lottery win I won't be going. Cats in Space on the other hand I should see at least an hour of before I need to get the train home. So that is a bit more do-able.

Well I definitely didn't go see Clutch and so am majorly pissed off.
On the other hand Cats in Space were excellent even though I could only watch for 40 minutes. Their previous gigs started at 9pm from what I could tell but almost getting into Waterloo I discover they are on at 9.20 so too late to do anything except go see them. It was a brilliant 40 minutes which was even more frustrating really.
Support band Hand of Dimes were great too so I bought their CD.

You're in the same boat as I used to be when going to see bands at the Glasgow Apollo. The last train back to Edinburgh used to be about 10:30. I missed many an encore for a few years, particularly by Quo.

Girlschool Feb Chesterfield Bl00dy hell! That would take me back I seem to have stopped gigging without really noticing. Haven't been to one since Rhino's Revenge last spring. And the only ones planned for this year are both Quo gigs in October and December. Had my eye on a few but just never got round to it

Girlschool Feb Chesterfield I went and saw Girlschool back in the 80s at the Marquee. They were good, but girl rock bands didn't work for me.
