The attendances will be whatever they are. Doesn’t stop people who attend from not enjoying it. Out of the 3 original FF members left Francis Rossi is the only one who can put a significant number of bums on seats for a promoter to sponsor a tour. Simple as ! Even this tour won’t be loss making in my opinion. It was the same situation last October. Same old same old people drooling over poor ticket sales and rubbing their hands smiling at possible failure of their apparantly once loved band. But by the time the gigs came round it was a successful tour, well attended and very very enjoyable to me. Maybe not to you....as I say your loss ! A promoter wouldn’t be interested in touring the couple of hundred people who support the tribute or past members route ! But you have Minehead to look forward to every year and enjoy so we all have something !

The LNOTE tour was promoted with Rick still on the poster until close to the end, when it was obvious Rick would not be there, now thats what I call false advertising and a con, try and disguise it or divert away from that any way you like, if you cannot see it for that, that's your'e problem Initial sales were made on the assumption this was gonna be the last of the electric gigs they ever did. Rossi said he physically couldn't do it anymore, do you remember that ?!, the BS excuse was of course he was only saying that because of Rick, now if you honestly believe that ,, the U turns on the upcoming UK tour suggests they aren't selling enough tickets, there is not enough interest, hence goin back to electrics, smacks of pure desperation to me. Of course I do realise some will still go & enjoy themselves as long as its still called SQ, fair enough, would these same folk still go without Rossi ? At the end of the day Rossi needs the brand name to secure his income as he knows, through past failures not enough are interested in any solo career he did or would do

I don't think it's a recent "interview" with Francis. I've heard or read all the bits and pieces the Mirror has put together for this "article" before. They "decorated" it all with what they "know" about the current tour and threw in a two-year old "Day in the Life" video, and that's all. Personally, I don't think Francis or the rest of the band are "desperate". I truly believe all the talk about "cutting back" was for Rick's benefit. The band knew better what was going on with Rick, and I understand they tried to "save" him or "drag him along" when they planned to hang up their electric guitars and go on acoustically. There were things going on in the Quo camp the fans didn't know about and some of which have been revealed in this way or another over recent months. It wasn't Francis who physically couldn't do it anymore, it was Rick. We all know that (now). Maybe going back to playing electric gigs is what the band really wanted. Rick probably wanted it, too, but he couldn't do it anymore. It hurts to say that, it's awful, but people can't be in denial all the time. I don't know about ticket sales. I'm not really interested in that kind of stuff, but I realise of course management have to be. I don't agree with a lot of things that happened in the Quo camp or rather did not happen since Rick's passing. That the current band go on under the name of Status Quo irks a lot of fans. But remember Rick gave them his blessing to continue. And the current band have found out that they really enjoy playing together with new-found energy. I've said it before, it saddens me a lot to think Rick might have been a burden to them for whichever reason. We may like it or not, people still love their Quo and enjoy the current band's gigs. They still rock and blow the roof off places. And don't we all want to secure our income as long as possible? If we enjoy what we're doing, even better. Status Quo and being in a band has been Francis' life, just like Rick's, and he doesn't want to give it up just yet. We will find out what will happen to the band and brand Status Quo when they have had their time out next year and taken stock. For now, they've only completed (or are about to complete) what they set out to do last year - their LNOTE tour. Rossi's own words from Feb 2016, not mine: Francis Rossi said, “We’ve talked about it for some time and have decided that it’s time for us to hang up the electrics. It’s getting harder and harder for us to play those shows. It’s 30 years since we last said we were stopping but this is a final decision. It doesn’t mean we won’t do other things, perhaps the odd special, but we’re agreed that the moment has come. There’s more to come from us in the years ahead, but we won’t tour the electric set ever again”. www.statusquo.co.uk/lastnight.html#.WepCrltyKUkSuddenly its not "harder and harder" for him to play electric gigs anymore, so what he said above was clearly a lie, and also about it being a final decision, OR, as some would suggest and try to have me believe, he only said it because of Ricks health, had Ricks health been ok he would not have said what he said,,,hmmmm!!

TOTally agree with you Inna. Yes Francis will find it hard at 69 but he maintained a level of fitness. Unfortunately Rick didn’t and ignored the many warning signs which I believe led to their falling out ! Francis could see the writing on the wall with Rick and I Really do think he was trying to look after him ! I know the various Rick fans don’t want to believe it but IMO it stares you in the face !
Secondly wormor, yes Rossi needs the brand of Status Quo...so what..his band !! Don’t think there will be anyone taking him to court over it !! Unless you all want to club together and take the risk...lol.

Think this is all going to go round the Champs Elysees again and I don’t see the point as no one is going to change their beliefs on it so no more from me other than one simple fact
Status Quo still exist and are trading with one founder member wether anyone likes it or not l. I happen to sit in the Like it Side of the fence. End of !

We beg to differ on opinions on this & numerous other Quo related things, which is of course fine, we should all (and do) stand by our own personal beliefs

I agree with you, we've been there before, and we needn't go back there again. But I guess that's what you do on message boards, discuss things endlessly, just for the 'fun' of it. If it becomes a drag, we can always choose to opt out. We're all grown-ups on here, and we're not likely to change our attitudes because someone else tells us our opinion is wrong. So we can go on talking Quo till kingdom come or quit the place if it's getting too boring to wish to continue. This side of the fence, that side of the fence - let's just talk over the fence. So Inna, you are saying state yer opinion once and never repeat it, unless yer a current fan, in which case you can repeat how wonderful you think they are as often as you like ?!!,,, you just know that won't work on me
