In regard to the future of Quo, Francis mentions that he is 'confused' about it.....and even says so twice during this interview:-

Dear Francis, have I got news for you: Germans happen to understand English, so be careful what you say (or sing) .

An alright interview I suppose.
Interesting last comment from Francis about "young people changing how I think".
Think The Quo story is going to run for a few more years.

@inna,
I think that's a fair summing up.
I don't think there's any doubt that Richie's arrival on the scene has brought a freshness to the band. snakelady, and others have already commented that the band live no longer appear to be about two individuals but it's about everyone. They look more united now.
In time (what's left of it for the band), this freshness might well lead to a new set, perhaps inspire some to write for a new album, who knows?
My only concern in all of this, is that when the band reformed in '86, things were said about Alan and then about Francis that weren't all that complimentary and I don't want to see that scenario repeating itself now that Rick isn't here anymore and isn't able to defend himself.
I don't think it's any secret that were tensions off stage but I think some things should be left unsaid and kept in-house, so to speak.

I don't think it's any secret that were tensions off stage but I think some things should be left unsaid and kept in-house, so to speak. I actually think that's what Francis has been desperately trying to do and for years - not to talk about Rick or other internal personal stuff. I've never read an interview in which Francis talked negatively about Alan. Not a single one. His usual line has been Alan is a nice guy, but I just didn't want to be in a band with him any more. Alan on the other hand .. The hate towards Francis is simply founded on the perception that it's his fault that the music - sound and general direction - changed, and especially since he has stated in interviews that he don't much like Quo's 70s output and heavy rock in general. So it must be his fault as Alan has always defined himself a rocker (no matter the music the wrote after 74) and Rick looked the rocker on stage (again, no matter the music he wrote ..). Francis may have co-written Down Down, BFM or ROLD, but surely the rockin' quality was merely down to his respective writing partners - after all he's the pop and country loving softy . And you may well be right. If the influence of the younger guys is big enough to lead to changes and new recorded material there might be more years of Quoing still ahead of us than we've expected so far. I hope so ..

I just think it's nice that Richie is getting a look in at interviews. This isn't the first one he's done. Although Rhino and Andrew in particular seem to remain excluded (Leon was present if silent at the one in Wacken). Maybe it's through choice, I don't know. But I'm cynical enough to see this as a new 'marketing' ploy to get another "double act" at the forefront of promotional work. There is reticence on Francis's part to go into the whole 'electric/acoustic' thing ("don't ask me that question" ) and I imagine he's less than keen to point out that the Aquostic UK tour in particular just wasn't selling. I assume that anyway. I could be completely wrong. But the turnaround is, shall we say, suggestive. To me, it doesn't actually matter. The truth won't hurt. I'm a big boy now. But I tell you what; we did actually toy with going to see the Aquostic gig at Sydney Opera House so if we'd spent all that money (literally thousands!) and then been told it was now electric, I may have been a little bit upset. Tickets for Cardiff and Newcastle was bad enough; Sydney would have encouraged me into a terrorist atrocity
