Expecting something along the lines of Hello (which was dominated by R/Y songs btw.) is putting too much pressure on them IMO, no matter if it's just one song or a whole album they'll record. And they're over 40 years older too - they were in their prime back then and they're old men now. People seem to refuse to accept that and its consequences.

The picture isnt meant to imply I expect another Hello!, it was their emblem for a few years in the 70's. Yeah Im well aware the Hello! album is mainly Rossi/Young songs, in the days where he could write and play a decent tune,, unlike now 107 You forgot to add 'IMO', as you keep reminding people ..

I see your avatar has Rick working feverishly as usual on his new material Joking apart, its hard to imagine what this PLC project will give us. I hope Alan's material is better than its been for the last 36 years and I also hope that Rick has come out the other side of his crooner/love song phase - which has lasted a while. Spud doesn't write so that only leaves the two of them to do it. I also think they might need a second guitar although that will depend on what sort of style they adopt but if they're trying to recreate something from the past then its probably a given. But the bottom line is, I just hope they manage to achieve it. An album of new Parfitt/Lancaster songs (and, dare I suggest, Bob Young?) could be interesting.

Well, two of them are still in their 30s... No, seriously, it could be great to see PLC come up with some sort of project, a new album. But I can't see them touring. I think even Rick is very reluctant when it comes to playing gigs, even if he should get the all-clear after Christmas. I wouldn't want him to take any risks, but I definitely wouldn't mind an RP album. Didn't you find it heart-breaking when he talked in the interview about how he felt while the rest of the band were on tour? That he tried not to think about missing the shows, wouldn't look at the tour dates or visit the message boards, but that around 8 or 9 o'clock each night it would dawn on him that Quo were going on stage somewhere...without him. I think when people say they didn't miss Rick at the recent gigs it is because those gigs were really good gigs, loud and heavy, even though (I'd rather not say: because... :oo: ) Rick wasn't there. And yes, it crossed my mind that it seemed a bit disrespectful to say he wasn't missed. I for one missed him terribly, even though Richie did a magnificent job. But it was different, and without Rick it will never be the same again. But maybe it's just about the music for some fans while for others it's about the band members AND the music. Having read the new tourlog in the meantime I consider it a major miracle Rick is still alive and without major brain damage even. We better not expect too much from him and hopefully he goes about everything really cautious now. If ever there was a narrow escape ! :oo: Touring again is probably out of the question too and in any form .. I don't think it's disrespectful to not miss Rick. It's simply how people feel and you can't blame them for it. As I've said before - Rick helped create the music they enjoy every night, so even if they don't even know he exists, he's still part of their gig experience and always will be, as long as Quo's music is played anywhere ..
