It was Nils Lofgren that inadvertently introduced me to Tom Petty. A mate went to see Nils live way back (1978 maybe?) and said the support act, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, were outstanding. So I bought their debut album. Didn't like it But I kept an eye over the years for some reason and grew to really like Mr Petty. Sorry, a wee anecdote not even loosely related to the above song. Just thought I'd mention. That's really good that song

I knew of Nils Lofgren from before the E Street Band and have seen him with the Boss (twice, and Wembley in July), but never paid much attention to him until I listened to Keith Don't Go. YouTube then started throwing the full album at me, so I gave it a go. Quite pleased I did.
