Some clips from the concert are already put on here and I want to thank everyone who shared his/her clips. Thank you . Review: I had a great time in London, although the waiting for the ticket to arrive was nerve wrecking. It arrived only with 1 day to spare. Luckily I got the day of from work so I could leave early in the morning (up around 4 am to get ready and get to the train station and catch the train leaving at 5.24). It also meant: not much sleep again. When I arrived at the chapel there were only some people already in the queue. I was told I was number 11... so that was good. They had not seen anyone arrive from the band yet (a few were queing for since morning). Yes, we saw the band arrive and they got in at the front door where we were standing: first one was Leon.... followed shortly by the others. Well, it does not happen every day that Francis passes just where I was standing to get in the venue. Up close... Friendly people at Union Chapel: as they noticed/heard some were queing from 7 in the morning, followed by others around 10am and a few more later on, the woman said she would see to it that we got good seats in the centre area of the chapel. The thing was that (chapel) members got priority access, so it was not sure otherwise we would have been able to sit in the first few rows. She kept word as half of the first row and the second row had a paper on them which made them "reserved" for the first dozen in the que.... really appreciated that! So... thank you Union Chapel . I got a great spot in the 2nd row with a good view . It was something different.... sitting and being able to get a drink (no alcool in the chapel, but soup, tea, cola, etc were all allowed and with a place to put it on in front of you (except for the front row... another reason why the 2nd row was great this time). Also, there was place to put the T-shirt and mug without the risk of the mug being broken... bought it before the concert). Merchandise: a T-shirt and mug... with the drawing that is on the CD. First we got a support act: Brendan Keane 7u45 to 8u15 Quo started at 8u45. They were on fire! Although it was an aquostic concert they.... rocked. Could also be to the fact that this time they were not sitting down, but standing... and with the use of cables again (which at times was clear Francis is/they are not used to anymore). It was great... although short: ± 45' minutes: they played the set list they will play today at Hyde Park.... Although we got "That's A Fact" and "Hold You Back" twice! No new songs (from the 3 really new ones), could be due to the absence of Rick. Also: as the Hyde Park concert is not for a Quo audience only, they added the hits/better known songs to the set list... But despite that I really enjoyed the concert. setlist: Pictures of Matchstick Men Paper Plane Caroline Proposin' Claudie That's A Fact Hold You Back Rollin' Home Down Down Whatever You Want Rockin' All Over the World Burning Bridges.... + That's A Fact and Hold You Back for the 2nd time. a few clips: Pitures of Matchstick Man: That's A Fact: Whatever You Want: Burning Bridges:

Yeah, we had a blast as well. I didn't think this gig had quite the same magic as the Roundhouse but it was still great. And incredibly warm! Nearly missed the train down to London - made it by the skin of our teeth - because of traffic on the road to the station. And particularly cyclists who (and I'm sorry if you are one) are a FVCKIN' MENACE! Once the gig got started and Quo came on it really livened up. Before that, I was beginning to think it was going to be a bit sedate. There were some seriously old people in the crowd. Did the spare 200 tickets go to church goers and walking stick holders? I appreciate that this was just a dress rehearsal for Hyde Park; a bit of fine tuning. But it was terrific for all that. We didn't go to Hyde Park. Personally, I couldn't sit through all that till Quo came on. But watched their set on TV. They went down really well, which wasn't unexpected. Looked a glorious day down there. London isn't my favourite place but Islington is buzzing. I like it. Right, let's get the electrics plugged back in.

Nice reports, thanks to the two of you. Your commitment is really incredible, Rosi, I could never queue for that many hours just to get to the front. And you might not be far off with the church goers, Billy - going by Rosi's comment about Union chapel members, who obviously had priority for the first rows. Would explain the sedate audience reaction in the videos too.

Actually, there was a woman right behind me who tapped me on the shoulder at one point and asked me to sit down (during Hold You Back; can you imagine??) because she couldn't see. I declined. Not sure how she couldn't see because she had heels on that could have doubled up for stilts! She maybe couldn't see because of the Botox in her lips which, frankly, looked ridiculous and more like some sort of birth defect. But enough of the personal insults. She did annoy me though. The bloke she was with didn't get involved. Wise move.

Having her forced to do that must've been torture for her. :lolflg: Good to hear though that there was a livelier atmosphere in other parts of the church not visible in the video.

Forgot to add: they were filming for a German (news) report..... Should be on RTL this week.... if someone sees it, please let me and everyone know. Would love to see it! They went in - supposedly for an interview - came out and interviewed a few fans and then back in. Well, hopefully it will be clear when it will be on TV (announced prior to broadcast )

(...) Good to hear though that there was a livelier atmosphere in other parts of the church not visible in the video. Maybe people thought it wasn't appropriate to sing and dance... They were inside a church, after all. And Quo didn't sing the gospel... There was the thought: being in a chapel.... can we stand up, dance and enjoy ourselves (I was already "singing" along ) and also: in the UK it is not always allowed to stand up and enjoy yourself when it is a seated concert. I know we hesitated to get up when Quo came on stage, but as those in the front row and behind us stayed seated, we did too.... at least for a while I got up when I noticed that people around me were getting up also.... actually: it is impossible to stay seated at a Quo gig, be it electric or acoustic!

People have some very funny ideas about chapels these days. They must get them from the media reporting on some of the fundamentalist churches. Congregationalists, URC and Methodists are a jolly lot. Here is a notice from my chapel earlier this month.

As far as Im concerned Quo gigs should always have been a mix of seating and standing, that way all punters can be pleased, sadly that hasnt happened, but to be fair this is likely to be because of the venue rather than the band.

Were the FF gigs in the UK seated too ? You better come over for a gig on the continent. We still have large standing areas, which makes for a far better atmosphere (and a younger audience). Really hope that's how it'll stay for an acoustic tour. You should've seen the audience go mental at Stuttgart .

In the UK , an all standing gig is now sadly a rarity, some have a mix of seating and standing, an increasing amount are all seated only, which sucks to me. I dont need to comment re: Aquostic, other than to say all seated would be best as the cups of tea and sweeties can be passed around lol

Where do you hear such things? Someone saw an interview (or part of?) on RTL taken outside Union Chapel with someone she knows and mentioned it on.... Facebook. (I know she was at the Quo fanday in Germany as were a few friends of mine). I wonder if there was an interview with Francis or something from the concert. Hope someone can share the broadcast here or on YouTube.

Sorry Rosi, but I as near as never check TV programs although I wanted to, but kept forgetting (and I don't watch RTL) so I can't help and guess it has been broadcast already.

No worries snakelady ... although it seems not many Germans watch RTL . It will pop up on YouTube eventually... fingers crossed!

Your remark made me check yt - nothing yet .. A few videos from Quo's last gigs with Rick though. Leaves a strange feeling, when you see him there up on stage in Antalya. I generally don't watch a lot on the telly. I follow a few series plus, when I remember to switch it on, various sports on Eurosport und the footie results on Saturday. That's about it ..
