So far, this board's preferences of the 60s and 80s have been revealed. So now it's the 00s turn to have a go. I'm afraid it includes many a cover but hey ho them's the breaks c:saw
With 78 tracks on offer in this Cup, the plan is:
Round 1: 10 groups, min of 3 to qualify per group (lasting 2 weeks) Round 2: 4 groups of 8(ish), min of 3 to qualify per group (1 week voting) Semi Final: 2 groups of 6(ish), min of 3 to qualify per group (1 week voting) Final: 6 left (ish) (1 week voting)
Other suggestions welcome, but for now Round 1 will commence in a wee while ...

I've used it in a gymnastics display; I think it's a great upbeat tune, and it just works. I take it you don't like it!

12 tracks were to qualify for the semis, but due to drawn 3rd placers and 17 qualifiers, we'll now have a 3-group Semi-Final (I know, I know, a contradiction in terms ).
3 votes per group for people this time, with a minimum of 2 tracks per group to qualify for the final.

I love all 3 of those; Heartbreaker, I Ain't Wastin my Time, and GGUAG. I absolutely love One by One (even though it wasn't strictly an album track), and I can't beleive Bad News went out so early (although I suppose it's a bit of a Marmite Track....love it or hate it)!

With One By One not on my album version, I've rarely listened to it, but can't say that I'm that keen on it. IAWMT is good, but I'd rather have it out than the two I've mentioned. Whatever Marmite is .. .. Rhino may have written the best song on Bula Quo with Fiji Time, but he did write the worst two on ISOTFC IMO (sorry Rhino).

Definition from Wikipedia: Marmite is the brand name for two similar food spreads: the original British version, and a modified version produced in New Zealand. Marmite is made from yeast extract, a by-product of beer brewing. Other similar products include the Australian Vegemite (saltier in taste), the Swiss Cenovis and the German Vitam-R. The British version of the product is a sticky, dark brown food paste with a distinctive, powerful flavour, which is extremely salty. This distinctive taste is reflected in the British company's marketing slogan: "Love it or hate it." The product's name has entered British English as a metaphor for something that is an acquired taste or tends to polarise opinions. So it looks like it's the British equivalent of Vitam-R.

Erhm .. never heard of Vitam-R either May try out Marmite when I'm over in the UK in April - could make a pleasant alternative to smoked cooked fish for breakfast On the other hand - I don't much favour salty stuff .. Btw. Will you be at the Hammy gig and pre-gig mb meet up as well (see thread in the non-Quo section) ?

I live in Manchester, I've never been to a gig in London in my life............but because they're not playing in or around Manchester this time and my mate flys over from Ireland and Hammersmith is at the weekend..........we're going to see Quo in London!!!! I will have a look at the thread and see if I can persuade him that we should meet up! I've only ever met 2 people off the message board; Steel City Quo and Spinning Wheel Blues.....oh and Crappy! p.s. I don't like Marmite, it's horrible stuff!! I wouldn't call it pleasant!!

What did we do all the voting for ? :lolflg: I could've told you from the start that these are the best noughties songs ! (only it would have been 5, as I'd have My Little Heartbreaker and Pennsylvania Blues included as well ).
