The lyrics of Almost But Not Quite There never fail to put a smile on my face and the music itself isn't too shabby either - a very early sign of Francis' knack for melodies Overall I obviously prefer later 60s over earlier 60s and while they did quite a few remarkable covers, most of their own song writing efforts were still err.. improvable, naturally.

Have to admit, I'm a huge fan of the psychedelic years, and have long yearned to see a Quo set based around the 60s, not that it was ever going to happen mind.
I agree with that comment about Francis, Kathrin, it's a great tune that one. I've always found it funny how the band who were trying to break through went from "I (Who Have Nothing)" then later to "Almost But Not Quite There" and then almost immediately after that they got their big break :lolflg:
My votes here go to:
Almost But Not Quite There Black Veils Of Melancholy Paradise Flat The Price Of Love Walking With My Angel
I'll be sorry to see So Ends Another Life exit if it does but there's tough competition around.

Oh wow... I haven't heard of most of these. Really good of you to put the links of music up - that'll help... I'll go have a listen...
