I think it's good to have a rest from these because there were so many between 2008 and 2018 that they often seemed endless - and repetitive. Especially the Live Here Now releases. ...which is exactly why I'd like to have some of the oddities of recent years represented as some kind of official live version. There has been quite a bit that hasn't been released on a live album, or only very sparely: - O Baby (2014/2015) - Lies (Aquostic II tour, 2017 - cut out of the Down Down & Dignified release) - Don't Drive My Car ("Plugged In" with Andy on lead, 2017) - Backwater (with Rhino on lead, 2018/2019) - Little Lady (with Richie on lead, 2018/2019/2022) - Mystery Song (with Richie on lead, 2018/2022) - Big Fat Mama (with Richie on lead, 2018) - Cut Me Some Slack (2019/2022) - Liberty Lane (2019/2022) - Backing Off (2022) - Get Out Of My Head (2022) - Rock 'n' Roll 'n' You (2022) - Twenty Wild Horses (2022) There was a glitch with the recording of Lies that night, hence it’s non appearance on the cd

But it was weird anyway how it wasn't even part of the main Aquostic II studio album...

But it was weird anyway how it wasn't even part of the main Aquostic II studio album... There has apparently always been an issue with Lies within the band, which is why it has never been played live on a non- Aquostic basis. I presume this goes back to the days when it was first recorded. I always thought it odd that Don't Drive My Car got a regular airing when Lies was effectively the main hit. It certainly got all the airplay in the UK. But then I read something on the old message board that they had always been unhappy with something about it musically. To do with the tuning or the key it was played in or something. Can't quite remember what it was. And nothing that I can hear personally. I think it was Arjen that posted it. Which is why it was good to hear it on the Aquostic II tour. Because I really like it and prefer it to its double A-side partner.

I like both Lies and Don't Drive My Car but I also think that the latter is more suited to a regular ol' electric set. Lies is a bit chirpy. We've drifted off the subject matter quite a bit, haven't we?

Yup, Lies for me too - I never really got on with Don't Drive My Car either on record or live and was glad when it disappeared from the set. Not sure how they could have reproduced those insanely high pitched backing vocals on Lies live without Bernie Frost. Having said that, I'd love to have heard it without those bvs

I think Backbone is a solid album, it would be a shame if it was the last one.
That said should it be Quo without Rick on record?
