I know it's merely a covers album and it's questionable whether it's worth possessing, but could you please vote all the same. Merely 12 members taking part is a bit poor IMO .. !

I voted for Down the Dustpipe, WYW, RAOTW and Juniors Wailing.
I just don't see the point in them being on the album.
Caroline is different for me. I see it as the 'new' Caroline which also made it's way into the live set up and has remained ever since. I've always liked Caroline but this updated version just has more light and shade IMO, I much prefer it to the original.
I tend to be in the minority in so much as I don't mind Quo covers albums. The 'genuine' covers (and yes I know Juniors Wailing, DTD and RAOTW are covers but they're long established covers), I like.

This is very telling so far: Obviously we're fed up with the hits and Centerfold just doesn't fit in, made worse why the fact that it's sung by Rhino. They probably thought it was funny to record it as he had been in the original band. I wasn't. Keep on voting nonetheless ! What, Rhino was in the J Geils Band? You sure about that? Rhino was never part of the J Geils Band, much less an original member! Rhino was born in 1953 and the J Geils Band were formed in 1968, making him 15 years old in 1968! The original bass player was Danny Klein who served with them from their inception to 1985 when they split up. The didn't reform again until 1999, with Danny Klein once again as bass player, and he stayed with the group until 2015.

Thanks for the info - must have confused it with one of his other short term (one hit wonder) band memberships.

Wasn't Rhino in the Climax Blues Band, with Jeff Rich, who's only hit was Couldn't Get It Right ...then again, so weren't Climax Blues Band, who had several hits too. SWR1 still plays "Listen to the Night" as well as "Gotta Have More Love" regularly.

Climax Blues Band only really had one hit in the UK - Couldn't Get It Right (later covered rather well by Fun Lovin' Criminals). I always loved Pete Haycock's playing. The only J Geils song I actually know is Centrefold just because they weren't my thing really.

I don't care that much for Centerfold, but I really like the follow-up single to Centerfold: "Freeze-Frame" - one of the best organ riffs I've ever heard and some great brass there too!
Interesting that both the J. Geils Band (who had a fantastic harmonica player in the early days) and the Climax Blues Band started as pure blues/R&B outfits but had their biggest hits with far poppier tracks...

Oh yeah, forgot about that one. Pretty good as well.
