Randy van Warmer? He of "Just When I Needed You Most" fame. I liked that song, heartfelt and poignant lyrics (tin hat securely on).
Strange name though.
Sounds like a cross between a Dutch footballer and a porn star.

Like in "Open All Hours". G-Granville, f-fetch ye cloth....

And Christopher Cross. And Rupert Holmes And Peter Cetera And Randy Newman (what is it about the name Randy?) And any number of other American singer songwriters whose single was record of the week on the Noel Edmonds Breakfast Show No idea who Noel Edmunds is... I put Quo's Gotcha Oscar up on the Interviews page a few months back. That was on Noel's House Party.....that was Noel Edmonds, the bloke who got up on stage dressed up who they swore at! After starting off as a DJ he's presented lots of very well known TV programmes in the UK. Just thought I'd clear that up!!

No idea who Noel Edmunds is Someone best avoided The Bristol Deal or No Deal host Noel Edmonds says he does not regret asking a cancer survivor if his bad attitude caused the disease. Noel appeared on the BBC’s Victoria Live show on Tuesday (March 13) and was challenged over the controversial comments he made on Twitter in 2016. Host Victoria Derbyshire challenged the 69-year-old TV personality after he asked cancer sufferer Vaun Earl “is it possible your ill health is caused by your negative attitude?” Victoria said: “You tweeted to a cancer survivor who had tweeted you by saying you were 'talking quackery and that it should be made illegal’, you tweeted back: ‘Scientific fact: Disease is caused by negative energy’ “You then asked this twitter user: 'Is it possible your ill health is caused by your negative attitude?’ Do you regret saying that to him?” Noel responded: “No, not at all. I regret the fact that he didn’t answer the question.” “It is a scientific fact that negative energy causes disease and negative thoughts are part of that energy process.” He added: “If you are faced with a serious illness, you have to come at it with a positive mental attitude. It changes the outcome and millions of doctors and scientists will tell you that.”

Treating people like this is inexcusable.

I think what Noel Edmonds is hinting at is probably true in some cases but not for everyone. The disease can be triggered by any number of factors; lifestyles, genetics, external forces etc. So his comments are far too generic for what can be a complex set of circumstances. You can be the happiest, most positive person in the world. You can still get it and not beat it. And animals also get the disease. Do they have 'negative attitudes'? That would appear to just be silly. Have a view but be careful how you express and who you express it to. Better still, don't have a Twitter account. Seems to lead to a whole lot of trouble.

Not a fan of Edmonds, always struck me as being a vain little man.
He has one of those "professional" laughs in that he is in "hysterics" for ten seconds and then all of a sudden he's dead pan.
A man who loves taking the rise out of others but isn't so keen when it's reversed.
Saying what he did to folk who's lives has been touched by cancer is deplorable.

Never liked Edmonds, obnoxious **** if there ever was one, especially after those comments on twitter..😝 Back on topic, i don't like BB. Never have done. It's on par with RAOTW, WYW. Yeah they play them live just to appease the casuals, most of whom have never heard of classics (in my opinion) like Oh baby,April spring, Backwater etc etc. I'm not bothered about jumping up and down to BB. 4500 times however.... 😉

A good song especially live imo I agree totally. Always goes down very, very well. Even during the Aquostic gigs it got the place jumping. I always found the lyrics quite enigmatic. They tend to get lost in all the hype about it being good Quo, bad Quo or cheesy Quo but, as a "song", it's quite interesting. I suspect it's probably quite clever but I'm too stupid to state that with any certainty

It was a good song up until the 1984 F.A. Cup Final. Then they gave it to Manchester United, and actually helped them re-record it! Arrrggghh!!

Two Man Utd no.1 singles; two Quo songs immediately binned by a large number of Quo loving non Man U fans The musical equivalent of an own goal?

That's the second time I've done that - I must be missing ten years of my life somewhere. Which makes me ten years younger! Yay! I understand that sales of the Man Utd version broke all sales records in Guildford - and bombed everywhere else! And yes, as a Blue I immediately binned it.

There's got to be other parts of the UK where ManU has some popularity. The sales from one part of Manchester surely wouldn't have been enough to achieve that ? Maybe I should add a disclaimer - I don't much like the original, but the ManU version is plain awful !
