I know we had a previous B-side collection "To Be or Not To Be", but it would be a good idea to put one together for the B-sides after that.
I reckon in themselves they would make a cracking album. Things like -
Obstruction Day Analyse Time Lean Machine Better Times Heavy Daze Fighting With the Pack (not a b-side I know) Driving to Glory You Let Me Down Dead in the Water Mysteries from the Ball
Add others to that and it makes up a pretty rockin' listen.

Yeah, chuck in Lucinda and I Ain't Ready and I'm game! But I reserve the right to ignore the B-sides during the Thirsty Work period. Not a single listenable song out of about 7 of them. And I'm a long way from their worst critic!

Must admit to liking some the Thirsty Work b-sides. Democracy (I really like), Down To You and She Knew Too Much.

You'd want The Reason For Goodbye, The Madness, Lonely, Sea Cruise & Keep Me Guessing in there too.

They said did one in 1994. , albeit it included b-sides on the 70 s too.
It was called The Orher Side of Status Quo.
The front cover was from the I Didn’t Mean It video.
The Rock Til You Drop b-sided were fantastic.
But Francis wanted Tommy on the album when they could have had Heavy Daze or Better Times!

RTYD could've been the best Quo album since BFY if they'd ditched all the fillers & put a couple of the b sides on too

Ah yep, had completely forgotten about The Other Side Of Status Quo. Haven't listened to it in ages, as I didn't much like it after first listening. Got to give it another chance ..
It was released in 95 and the track list is:
Magic The Power Of Rock Don't Give It Up Rotten To The Bone (I do like that) You Lost The Love Heartburn Perfect Remedy AB Blues Keep Me Guessing Joanne Doing It All For You Lonely That's Alright I Wonder Why Gerdundula (live) Long Legged Girls 4500x (RTYD) Junior's Wailing (live)
While there's some pointless stuff on it, songs we've got on the regular albums anyway, it does contain a few gems too.
Doubt they'll have enough material we don't already have on an album for another singles (A+B sides) compilation ?

Democracy was the only Leonard Cohen song I ever liked.
So when Quo covered it, happy days, I didn't have to buy a Leonard Cohen record!!

I bought the track Never Mind which was the theme tune for the last series of "True Detective". Why Quo covered Democracy I'll never understand.

Yep, they probably thought it a cheap way to get a B-side with the song already in the can and Rick certainly went along thinking a release this way was better than no release at all and every little bit helped pay for his expensive habits. After all it was the time when him (and Francis) were still heavily into drugs and in constant need of money. I never bought the Red Sky and Dreamin' singles (or any other single up until You'll Come Round), so don't know who's credited for playing on those (if anybody's credited at all .. ). Would be interesting to know actually ..

I agree, snakelady. It probably was a good way of getting Rick's unreleased stuff out there. There may also have been a general absence of material and these were readily available. To be perfectly honest, until the advent of the internet, I hadn't a clue that they hadn't been re-recorded by Quo so I always saw them as Quo tracks. I think the Rossi Frost song, That's Alright might have been re-recorded. It certainly differs from the original. But I don't know for certain.

They hadn't been re-recorded by Quo the only members of Quo at the time who were on those tracks are Jeff and Rhino. Pip Williams played lead guitar on the tracks and probably the synth parts also, as Andy was with Rossi, Frost and Kircher That's Alright was re-recorded during the Ain't Complaining Sessions. It was titled as That's All Right on the Jealousy 12" B-side. It's not a bad track to be honest

They just say "Produced by Pip Williams for Handle Artists" The band (as far as I'm aware) that recorded the material for Recorded Delivery is; Rick Parfitt (Rhythm Guitar / Vocals), John Edwards (Bass), Jeff Rich (Drums) and Pip Williams (Lead Guitar / Synth). He started working on the album during 1984, as Rossi points out in an interview from June in Glasgow at the time so probably started recording it as soon as Quo were "over"

Rick said that in a rather drunken interview with Micky on a TV show Rick was hosting back in 85.
