I was just checking out the lyrics to Rain for reasons that don't really matter. I went to www.statusquo.co.uk of course, for the definitive answer. Apparently, the lyrics of the last verse are:
I started thinking back to you know when
I'd like to send a line but then again
How can I write you when there ain't no light
I'm feeling thight tonight and that's alright
Now I can live without the rain
Yes I can live without the rain
Now all I need to do is find out how I can get to feeling thight.
Any suggestions?

On a similar theme, when the were interviewed by Clarkson and Francis did his cotton bud routine, Rick says it makes him want to “Wallace”....Wallace and gromit= vomit !
Had Jeremy picked up it, it could have caught on as a bit of rhyming slang, not just Quo speak !

It's "I'm feeling right tonight" but with a lisp  Mustn't take the mickey out of speech impediments though. Not these days. Which makes me realise, if we had the same attitudes in 1974 that we have now, they'd not be allowed to make "Open All Hours". For me, one of the funniest comedies ever made. Hmm, bit of a digression there. I do apologise. |

Coming from a London family, feeling tight was to mean "Happy drunk".
That meaning seems to fit the song so I had always had assumed that's what it was!!
