I have listened to the Under The Influence album a couple of time this week and I LOVE THIS track, the harmonies are superb.
Everytime I listen to it though it reminds me of the Everly Brothers with the harmonies. Is it me??
Also I just noticed from this clip Ricky is playing the lead break.
Great track from Ricky

At the time, I thought that this one would be a massive hit as I think it's a little gem. Which just goes to show what I know! Love this song and for the same reasons as stated above by craydarr

Its a song that Rick once cited as one of his favourites.
I just think by the time it was released, Quo hit singles were sort of a thing of the past. Go back a few years more and it might have been successful. Certainly catchy enough for Radio 1 when Quo were allowed on it. But this was a time when airplay for the band was probably pretty thin on the ground.
I like the track. I also like the album (in the main). It felt like a corner had been turned and Quo were getting back on track. At long, long last.

Also love this one. Sir Terry of Wogan used to play this, a lot! I believe it was his then producer Paul Walters who was the fan of this song and the band in general. He certainly gave it far more airplay than other stations/shows. It was even played for quite a while into the 2000s and while FITLC was out.

I can remember when it came out it was played on a local radio station to us Wave105, we were in the car and for a few seconds I thought " I Know That Song" but I couldn't for the life of me think what it was. The station only normally plays Quo in the golden hour so I wasn't expecting it and it didn't register for a while.
The did actually play "That's a Fact" when it came out last year as well.

Great additional track with the single as well ( Driving To Glory). In fact, they put out some terrific extra tracks with singles around this time.

I think the fact they were with Eagle Records would probably account for it not being a single. If they had an arrangement with a decent label like with subsequent singles that went Top 20 I reckon this would have been huge. It's probably the most commercial thing Quo have ever done and it's so catchy. I've always loved the song and bands performance.

Love this song and for the same reasons as stated above by craydarr Quo were deemed a long way past their best by then, a lot of fans had deserted them, they hardly got played on the radio in the UK at all, and there wasn't much publicity for the second or third single from the album. Just because it didn't chart well doesn't necessarily mean it isn't a dam fine song.
I love it, absolutely love it.
