Really terrific stuff this. Anyone know who played lead on it? And also when it was?
Rick could certainly write a fabulous melody when he put his mind to it. Superb. Play this to anyone and Quo would be the last band they'd plump for if they were guessing!

Absolute awesome song! One of many demos being better than the final cut IMHO.

It was on the 'free' cd of demo's and other versions which came with the £100 version of the unofficial 40th Annivesary book!

But on the cd it merges into another version at the end. I can't find my cd to check to be honest, but I'm 99% sure that's the case. I love that version. I wish it had vocals on it.

Can't find the CD anymore either. Wish I had never given it to my boys .. At the time though I didn't quite know what to make of it and just listened to it once or twice. Which I regret now ..

The This & That CD has some really good stuff on it. The demos for Solid Gold and Goodbye Baby are terrific. As is Shifting Sand which I would love them to record properly. I even like the NFL version of All Stand Up.

I even like the NFL version of All Stand Up. Yes I really liked it too. I listened to it a lot when I first got it, and even listened to it periodically after that. I should be able to find it if I look hard enough! I love the writing of Down Down which appreared again recently on Bob Young's re-released Back in Quo Country. It's facinating to hear Francis writing/honing a song!
