Out of all the great RTYD songs, why oh why did they have to choose the cover that is Let's Work Together .. *SIGH* Can't Give You More would've been a cover as well, but at least one of their own songs (and the better song IMO). I'm not sure on that choice... It was the only time they played it live cause when they did the RTYD tour, they played; Like A Zombie, No Problems, Fakin' The Blues, Rock 'Til You Drop and One Man Band Oh for the days when they'd introduce FIVE new songs into the set.
Changed days indeed.

Which makes you wonder even more why LWT was played at the RTYD event .. :ignore: .

I'm not so sure Ive.
I really don't think that they persevered long enough with some of the "new" songs before dumping them and reverting back to their favoured set.
I thought the songs that they played from QPQ sounded good and worked well but they weren't really given a chance.
And yet another dig at Francis which is taken slightly out of context. In my very honest opinion of course.

In my very honest opinion of course. Francis seemed to have no problem in playing the later stuff live when he did his solo tour. Makes you wonder why they didn't stick with some of those, they went down well. Though Youll come Round would not have been played as 2 band members disliked it.

I really like that one and I don't remember them playing it. Maybe they had a bit of a change round and dropped it or brought it in later in the tour?? I love One Man Band and often wish they'd have brought it back in recent years when they were looking for songs for Rick to sing. I think it stayed in the set on and off until the late 90's didn't it?

ive , had you had chance to did out your bootlegs of the RTYD day/event yet? Yes I have and its NOT on the bootleg for Sheffield that I have, I also unearthed some video of the Sheffield gig I didnt even know I had Thanks Ive. I backtracked on 'Can't Give You More' when I dug out the setlist I'd written dowm. I think I was getting confused with 'The Price of Love'....I knew they played a track from RTYD that they didn't play regularly. The setlist I have written down is different than the one above which someone took from Setlist FM. Does your bootleg tally with my list? Sheffield - RTYD September 1991 Whatever You Want Paper Plane Roll Over Lay Down Mystery Song Medley Rain The Price of Love RAOTW Anniversary Waltz Rock n Roll Music Bye Bye Johnny

Looking back at this I can't help but think something big must've been planned for the 50 years anniversary too. They were joking about it - earth, moon, Mars .. back then . Makes you wonder what it really would've been - or will it still go ahead, what do you think ? How long before it took place was RTYD announced ?

It was officially announced on July 23rd at Northolt Aerodrome... When Quo arrived in spitfires and told the media their intentions to create the record of 4 gigs in a day

Yep, that's what I thought the most probable as well. Question is, will they still go ahead with it despite losing Rick ? They'd have to integrate him via videos and generally have to find ways to emphasise what he meant for the band. He hasn't been the first one to die, that was Jess Jaworski I think, but the most important one by far .. Imagine they'd start the gig with three guys on stage playing brass, if just for one song - Alan K., Alan L. and Francis. How great that would be !
