Anyone else a fan of this song? Always loved it and probably my favorite Quo ballad.

Love it.
Rick hates the fact Francis insisted he sing on it. Rick was apparently quite bitter about that

Yes. Absolutely love this song and puts that old chestnut to bed about all Quo songs sounding......
Easily my favourite song on the album.
I know someone else on here who is a big fan of this song.

The stand-out track on a, frankly, bloody awful album. For a ballad to be the best song on a Quo album speaks volumes about the rest.
Very good lyrics in this one plus it has a slightly bluesier feel to it than most other Quo ballads. Unusual for Francis to sing a Rick (co)penned song but he makes a right good job of it to be fair.
It should have been a single and I believe it was going to be till they re-recorded Going Downtown Tonight. Then it became a b-side.
Pity.

Best song from its album side at least - far better than both 'blues' singles. And I agree with mortified - Francis sings this one really well. I'm one of the few who think Going Downtown Tonight is a great single too. It were the 80s, synths didn't exactly come as a surprise. Actually GDT is probably the same type of song as Jam Side Down is ..

Piano version by Jamesjamiejames (I forget his name from the old MB). Note to Jamie - hurry up and release your cd of piano quo tracks www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoVsdf8Nu6gAcoustic solo by stetuskwoo Thanks for posting that link, I'd never seen any of his work before.
Always interesting to hear other versions of Quo songs.

Beautiful song, with poignant lyrics - love it. One of the first songs that struck a chord with me 5 years ago when I first heard Quo, & I still love it. I'm always going to play it on the piano and never get round to it... one day I must. Truthful, beautiful, sedate... love it.

I always liked that. It should have been a single, I think it would be a hit now and it wouldn't surprise me is someone covers it and makes it a hit

Been some time since I've listened to this one.
Not sure why I left it so long, great track.

Never liked it or indeed its parent album. Now you're just being mischievous & jumping on Per-Ola's bandwagon c:saw You just won't like it coz there's no blood or screaming & shouting or death or killing sprees in it like your usual *music*
