I've always loved this song and I don't mind which version it is. Electric, Aquostic or solo by Francis.
Hypothetically, say this song was never released and the band recorded a brand new electric album (ok, I know that's not going to happen) and this song appeared on that new album as a brand new song.
How would it be received today? A favourite or otherwise?

Simply put, one of Quo's best ever tracks. I'd take it to a desert island, that's for sure. I think it's very much liked/respected by most "FF-only" fans too.
Interesting question Smokie: Claudie, written and released by CQ and sounding just like the (hypothetically non-existant) Hello version? How would it be received? I'd hazard a guess at not well by most FF-only fans.

Back when I started to listen to Hello (and thought it was Quo's best album) I considered it very good, but not as outstanding as Blue Eyed Lady. That has changed - I absolutely adore the track now - in all its forms. And I really hope I'll get the chance to hear it live again.

I love this track, especially the way it followed the ending of Roll Over Lay Down from the Hello! album. I will go as far to say, this is the only Quo track that I've enjoyed on all 4 format's, Studio version from Hello, Live 73/75 performances, Aquostic album & the live version, at the Royal Albert Hall last year.

It certainly would be called "utter Rossi-drivel, which should be on one of his solo albums" by most of the ex-Quo-fans.

Great track. There is a Bob Young version kicking about as well. It seems to fit on the Hello! album very nicely. I'm not really sure why. It's like Fine Fine Fine. That seems to fit on what is possibly the heaviest album they ever recorded. But I do think it would be derided (by some) as a Francis Rossi solo track that should never have been recorded under the Quo name. Because, of course, it is a country song. And we can't have that, can we?

I like the song, in any form: original, Rossi solo, aquostic... I hope to hear it live again... one day... some day....
