I don't know how to put up the BIG links but here is my current FAVE. I recently received Ginger Wildhearts Fan Club album for my birthday and I can't leave this track alone. I generally listen to it time after time. youtu.be/slkHau5-xpEI keep posting about Ginger cos he does write some classic stuff (and ****e too tho. ) It's simple: use the 6th icon from the right, the black and white one that looks like the thing used for film takes and simply insert the address where it says Video URL. Then click 'insert video' and it'll be visible once you've created the post. It took a while but I have now used this. Thank you

Believe it or not, this! Not sure why I was attracted to it but once I had a quick listen I thought quite a lot of it was great.

Love the album ! Reading the song title made various other songs from it play in my head too .. Western Skyline, Mandolin Rain, Every Little Kiss ..

This believe it or not. Features Steve Stevens on guitar if I remember correctly. Great version.

Didn't the Thompson Twins play Hold Me Now at Live Aid ? I absolutely love that song ! (no idea why ..) Btw. I'm aware that this is a very much shortened single version - still over 4mins. though .. (and yep, I've indeed just listened to it )

.. and then there was this (that's me having listened to three songs this morning already !) Was played at the very last time I went to a disco - mid-80s obviously ..

Re Thompson Twins, they played Live Aid but I think it was in Philadelphia; and we in the UK missed half of that because it clashed with the UK concert. I missed Judas Priest as well. I really liked Thompson Twins back in the day. They were short lived at the top but made the most of it! I used to think the 80's was the worst decade for music but looking back, I think it simply became the worst decade for rock. The second half of the 80's was dismal. Guns 'n' Roses and Bon Jovi began to rule. I gave up.

Jim Peterik of Survivor's current band and still pumping out amazing melodic rock that harks right back to the 80s and in singer Toby Hitchcock a worthy successor to Jimi Jamison, just try to overlook Jim's pink rinse...

Guns 'n' Roses and Bon Jovi began to rule. I gave up. That's a good observation actually. I used to think the same, but some good pop groups and tunes did surface during the 80s. Very much 80s though and once the decade was over, the music was gone again as well. But it went with my growing up and be able to admit I enjoyed some of it too. What didn't work were the old rock bands turning pop as well. So from that POV it was quite remarkable that Quo managed to still chart, even when I personally thought their 80s output was mostly poor. On the other hand it may have nothing to do with the decades as the development from rock to pop had definitely already started in the late 70s and by 1990 I was out of the loop completely and simply had no idea any more what kind of music the charts were made of. Think rap must've become popular around then ?

Ryan Adams latest album is a wee cracker. He can be hit and miss but he's currently coming up with good stuff....
This one's from a while back but a goodie. It turned up on my playlist a little while ago.
