Superb driving riff in this one. The first four tracks on Quid Pro Quo I think are all outstanding. And although I'd normally wince at the anthemic shouting of "Let's Rock" towards the end (I generally don't like that sort of punch the air nonsense) it seems to work. Or maybe I'm just biased.

Key point here is that it sounds like a Quo song, many others didnt did they ?!

And to be fair to Mr Rossi (coz I know where you're going with it ), he co-wrote Two Way Traffic which I think is a modern classic up there with the very best. Some of the other songs were a bit limp by comparison - including Rick's Can't See For Looking I have to add - but there were for me at least 10 really good tracks on there. Of which Let's Rock is certainly one. (we'll ignore the lyrics )

I like the song. It rocks. Here's a clip from their gig on the banks of a canal in June 2011 when they played three tracks from their then new album Quid Pro Quo live for the very first time - Two Way Traffic, Rock'n'Roll'n'You and Let's Rock. The crowd loved them. I was there, it was another great gig, and even though it was raining we enjoyed ourselves tremendously there. I know for sure that at least two more members of this very MB were there, too, that night. Great clip. That works well on stage as far as I'm concerned, I have several bootleg DVD's from that tour which feature that song

Not a big fan of this track. Same category as I Love Rock And Roll on the 1982 album.

Don't like it at all. Wholly cringeworthy, from the boring riff to the ruddy dreadful lyrics. Not forgetting the parpy parp parps.
"Yeah yeah yeah let's rock."
No. Not to that.

Not too sure about it, yeah it is indeed a bit cringeworthy but also has energy, not the worst on the album by any means. best Rick track in years for me though is Alright from ISOTFC, an absolute belter.

This ! Alright had been another opportunity wasted (from a long row ..) and I'll never understand why Gravy Train was chosen instead. Worst track from the album and went down like a lead ballon.

All were good. I reported back to Col from this parish what new songs were in. He chucked it on the old message board. I know the lyrics are - as Francis put it - a bit hackneyed (to say the least!), but I still like it. What sets it apart, for me, from something like I Love Rock And Roll is the riff and the solo. It drives along very nicely.

If you listen to the chorus and then the chorus from Alright on the ISOTFC album, I'm surprised that Rick hasn't sued himself for copyright....:-)

I've always thought that Good Sign and Rain were very similar too (or Belavista Man come to think of it) - with Good Sign the far better of the two IMO. Should've made the live set !

Er, yer not anti Parfitt by any chance are you ?! reason I ask is you seem to dig at Rick often, but never (unless I have missed it) dig at the one whose name I don't like to mention

Still, it takes all sorts She once described Rossi in a post as "Yummy". That tells you all you need to know

It was how Status Quo sounded that got me into the band and not the lyrics, which, is just as well really when it comes to this song.
l love how this song sounds but I think the lyrics could be better/stronger. Andy said in the FTMO issue for Quid Pro Quo that the guitars in this song are ******* world class! Hard to disagree?
Great video too.

Alright as well - do you really think Let's Rock is the better song ? And Francis did copy himself too: Another Game In Town - Lies, but this was a thread about a Rick song .. - So no I'm not anti-Parfitt, but I don't wear rose-tinted Parfitt specs either .

Unusually for any Quo album, I think that the Rossi/Young tracks have turned out to be the weakest. Ditto with the Bula Quo album as well actually (I never count or even acknowledge Mystery Island ). Those that Francis wrote with other band members have been much stronger. Interesting. Or maybe not. Just an observation and a personal one at that. I like the Quid Pro Quo album. Well, certainly the first 10 or 11 tracks. After that, it just gets a bit too long with the addition of In The Army Now 2010 probably a bit unnecessary.
