I like the melody, but I am quite happy that they changed their sound a few years later.

There are a few stonewall favourites which you don't like! That's not allowed you know!! :lolflg: I dare you to go on the other site and start a thread saying you don't like Big Fat Mama! I think they've already fallen out with you haven't they? You and Fisherman will have to start going to gigs in disguise! Oh no, they won't be there!! Actually I've just been dressing up, if that counts as disguise ? (I don't do handbags though). As we'll be visiting the Christmas market prior to the gig, I've got to look the part :lolflg: Will have to leave soon .. Oi, I've never had any problems voicing my opinion on the side formerly known as dark - or on the omb prior to that - usually it's a question of how you do it .. Come to think of it, I prefer the 91 version of 4500x over the original and I can't stand DWMT anymore .. does that make me a hopeless cause ? You at Quo tonight! Enjoy....hope you enjoy the set....if not, just enjoy the atmosphere...if there is no atmosphere, just watch the lights!! I think you definitely have a case of over exposure............... ...........to some Quo songs that they've played live for the last 73 years! Don't tell Francis, you might have to resign your hardcore membership! :haha: I actually prefer 1991's 45 Hundred Times as well. ....I've just had an e-mail saying we're no longer allowed on the other site! (but if Rick Parfitt prefers the later version.....that's ok, because he's a Rocker)! :lolflg:

Can I add my name to 4500 Times '91. Best live version IMO is NEC Birmingham '82

I prefer the '91 version too.
Heard Girlschool on the radio the other day singing Race with the Devil.
Part of it sounds as if it was lifted straight from Forty Five Hundred Times.

l and I can't stand DWMT anymore .. does that make me a hopeless cause ? That statement about DWMT will end our friendship Oi, Ingo .. what can I do to change your mind ? @ Inna, well - it is a posh venue (did I mention I had my dance school proms at the very same hall - evening gowns and all ), so no jeans and t-shirt this time. Didn't keep me from singing and dancing and headbanging .. oh err and flirting with the band all night .

Well I did, actually

Well I did, actually Enjoy the Guys............I never ever thought of a Quo gig like that! When people have a closed mind / or one track mind, they're very easy to wind up (without even trying), because they have no concept of where the other person is coming from!

4500 Times live, takes me back 30 years to a sun drenched Milton Keynes. What a day, what a band... Good choice..

I've loved this from first hearing, although it's merely a rather poor demo. Only recently did I realise though, that the chorus had been recycled for Lies, which incidentally I love as well

Quite some similarities with Lies indeed. I remember having mixed feelings about Lies back at the time it was released. I found it a bit too poppy, I guess. But on the other hand it had something abkut it and it's very catchy.

Spanish influences in early Quo We didn't really have a Flamenco style song on Aquostic, did we? Maybe Tango (for which I coulldn't find a video on yt, that is available in Germany) will go onto Aquostic II

Make Me Stay A Bit Longer would certainly make my top 5 Quo songs from the 60s - the top 2 spots are firmly awarded to Little Miss Nothing and Technicolour Dreams though. As Inna has already put up Technicolour Dreams, here's the little Miss:

I like Reason for Living, and I like the Aquostic version, but unfortunately I think it suffers a bit because of Rick's vocals....especially live. Good song though!

Should have been in the Final Round of the Quo Cup 26, but sadly isn't... Yes, it should have been. I think it's got more drive live than on the CD, but I don't think it really suffers because of Rick's vocals. I admit his voice has seen better days and that Francis is the better singer on Aquostic. I believe Rick was so nervous before the Roundhouse gig that he not only messed up his lines, but also struggled with his voice at times. But I don't feel the songs he sang really suffered because of it. Nobody is perfect. Still, I love this version. That's what I think as well - that a lot of it was down to him having been really nervous. That theory is supported by the fact that in Stuttgart his singing was much better and he only made minor mistakes with the lyrics. Overall though I prefer All The Reasons over Reason For Living. Both are very good versions, better than the Aquostic album versions and (dare I say it ? :oo: ) even better than the original album versions, which I thought were among the weaker songs on their respective albums.
